Pastor Sung Pyo first walked through Cornerstone's doors in October 1999 — drawn in by the warmth of the community and the generosity of those around him. What began as a search for friendship gradually became something much deeper.
In college, he made a personal commitment to attend Friday Bible Study and Sunday worship every week for a full year without missing. That discipline opened the door to a genuine spiritual awakening. Around 2006–2007, during his final year of college, everything changed — his faith became his own.
In January 2008 he suffered Bell's Palsy, a period of physical struggle that became a turning point. Through it, God called him clearly into ministry. He formally committed to becoming a pastor that same year and has been serving Cornerstone's youth ever since, leading the youth group from 2008 and previously serving in junior high ministry.
He met his wife Linda at Cornerstone Church, and together they are raising their daughter Lois.
