30And it came to pass, as soon as Isaac had made an end of blessing Jacob, and Jacob was yet scarce gone out from the presence of Isaac his father, that Esau his brother came in from his hunting.
31And he also made savory food, and brought it unto his father. And he said unto his father, Let my father arise, and eat of his son's venison, that thy soul may bless me.
32And Isaac his father said unto him, Who art thou? And he said, I am thy son, thy first-born, Esau.
33And Isaac trembled very exceedingly, and said, Who then is he that hath taken venison, and brought it me, and I have eaten of all before thou camest, and have blessed him? Yea, `and' he shall be blessed.
34When Esau heard the words of his father, he cried with an exceeding great and bitter cry, and said unto his father, Bless me, even me also, O my father.
35And he said, Thy brother came with guile, and hath taken away thy blessing.
36And he said, Is not he rightly name Jacob? for he hath supplanted me these two time. He took away my birthright. And, behold, now he hath taken away my blessing. And he said, Hast thou not reserved a blessing for me?
37And Isaac answered and said unto Esau, Behold, I have made him thy lord, and all his brethren have I given to him for servants. And with grain and new wine have I sustained him. And what then shall I do for thee, my son?
38And Esau said unto his father, Hast thou but one blessing, my father? Bless me, even me also, O my father. And Esau lifted up his voice, and wept.
39And Isaac his father answered and said unto him, Behold, of the fatness of the earth shall be thy dwelling, And of the dew of heaven from above.
40And by thy sword shalt thou live, and thou shalt serve thy brother. And it shall come to pass, when thou shalt break loose, That thou shalt shake his yoke from off thy neck.
41And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing wherewith his father blessed him. And Esau said in his heart, The days of mourning for my father are at hand. Then will I slay my brother Jacob.
42And the words of Esau her elder son were told to Rebekah. And she sent and called Jacob her younger son, and said unto him, Behold, thy brother Esau, as touching thee, doth comfort himself, `purposing' to kill thee.
43Now therefore, my son, obey my voice. And arise, flee thou to Laban my brother to Haran.
44And tarry with him a few days, until thy brother's fury turn away.
45Until thy brother's anger turn away from thee, and he forget that which thou hast done to him. Then I will send, and fetch thee from thence. Why should I be bereaved of you both in one day?
46And Rebekah said to Isaac, I am weary of my life because of the daughters of Heth. If Jacob take a wife of the daughters of Heth, such as these, of the daughters of the land, what good shall my life do me?
30이삭이 야곱에게 축복하기를 마치매 야곱이 그의 아버지 이삭 앞에서 나가자 곧 그의 형 에서가 사냥하여 돌아온지라
31그가 별미를 만들어 아버지에게로 가지고 가서 이르되 아버지여 일어나서 아들이 사냥한 고기를 잡수시고 마음껏 내게 축복하소서
32그의 아버지 이삭이 그에게 이르되 너는 누구냐 그가 대답하되 나는 아버지의 아들 곧 아버지의 맏아들 에서로소이다
33이삭이 심히 크게 떨며 이르되 그러면 사냥한 고기를 내게 가져온 자가 누구냐 네가 오기 전에 내가 다 먹고 그를 위하여 축복하였은즉 그가 반드시 복을 받을 것이니라
34에서가 그의 아버지의 말을 듣고 소리 내어 울며 아버지에게 이르되 내 아버지여 내게 축복하소서 내게도 그리하소서
35이삭이 이르되 네 아우가 와서 속여 네 복을 빼앗았도다
36에서가 이르되 그의 이름을 야곱이라 함이 합당하지 아니하니이까 그가 나를 속임이 이것이 두 번째니이다 전에는 나의 장자의 명분을 빼앗고 이제는 내 복을 빼앗았나이다 또 이르되 아버지께서 나를 위하여 빌 복을 남기지 아니하셨나이까
37이삭이 에서에게 대답하여 이르되 내가 그를 너의 주로 세우고 그의 모든 형제를 내가 그에게 종으로 주었으며 곡식과 포도주를 그에게 주었으니 내 아들아 내가 네게 무엇을 할 수 있으랴
38에서가 아버지에게 이르되 내 아버지여 아버지가 빌 복이 이 하나 뿐이리이까 내 아버지여 내게 축복하소서 내게도 그리하소서 하고 소리를 높여 우니
39그 아버지 이삭이 그에게 대답하여 이르되 네 주소는 땅의 기름짐에서 멀고 내리는 하늘 이슬에서 멀 것이며
40너는 칼을 믿고 생활하겠고 네 아우를 섬길 것이며 네가 매임을 벗을 때에는 그 멍에를 네 목에서 떨쳐버리리라 하였더라
41그의 아버지가 야곱에게 축복한 그 축복으로 말미암아 에서가 야곱을 미워하여 심중에 이르기를 아버지를 곡할 때가 가까웠은즉 내가 내 아우 야곱을 죽이리라 하였더니
42맏아들 에서의 이 말이 리브가에게 들리매 이에 사람을 보내어 작은아들 야곱을 불러 그에게 이르되 네 형 에서가 너를 죽여 그 한을 풀려 하니
43내 아들아 내 말을 따라 일어나 하란으로 가서 내 오라버니 라반에게로 피신하여
44네 형의 노가 풀리기까지 몇 날 동안 그와 함께 거주하라
45네 형의 분노가 풀려 네가 자기에게 행한 것을 잊어버리거든 내가 곧 사람을 보내어 너를 거기서 불러오리라 어찌 하루에 너희 둘을 잃으랴
46리브가가 이삭에게 이르되 내가 헷 사람의 딸들로 말미암아 내 삶이 싫어졌거늘 야곱이 만일 이 땅의 딸들 중에서 아내를 맞이하면 내 삶이 내게 무슨 재미가 있으리이까
In a world that constantly demands more — more productivity, more achievement, more anxiety — Psalm 23 speaks a radical word of rest. The shepherd does not drive the sheep; he leads them. There is a profound difference between a God who demands and a God who guides. Today, where do you need to let the Shepherd lead you into rest?

잠언 25장
1These also are proverbs of Solomon, which the men of Hezekiah king of Judah copied out.
2It is the glory of God to conceal a thing; But the glory of kings is to search out a matter.
3As the heavens for height, and the earth for depth, So the heart of kings is unsearchable.
4Take away the dross from the silver, And there cometh forth a vessel for the refiner:
5Take away the wicked `from' before the king, And his throne shall be established in righteousness.
6Put not thyself forward in the presence of the king, And stand not in the place of great men:
7For better is it that it be said unto thee, Come up hither, Than that thou shouldest be put lower in the presence of the prince, Whom thine eyes have seen.
8Go not forth hastily to strive, Lest `thou know not' what to do in the end thereof, When thy neighbor hath put thee to shame.
9Debate thy cause with thy neighbor `himself', And disclose not the secret of another;
10Lest he that heareth it revile thee, And thine infamy turn not away.
11A word fitly spoken Is `like' apples of gold in network of silver.
12`As' an ear-ring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, `So is' a wise reprover upon an obedient ear.
13As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, `So is' a faithful messenger to them that send him; For he refresheth the soul of his masters.
14`As' clouds and wind without rain, `So is' he that boasteth himself of his gifts falsely.
15By long forbearing is a ruler persuaded, And a soft tongue breaketh the bone.
16Hast thou found honey? eat so much as is sufficient for thee, Lest thou be filled therewith, and vomit it.
17Let thy foot be seldom in thy neighbor's house, Lest he be weary of thee, and hate thee.
18A man that beareth false witness against his neighbor Is a maul, and a sword, and a sharp arrow.
19Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble Is `like' a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint.
20`As' one that taketh off a garment in cold weather, `and as' vinegar upon soda, So is he that singeth songs to a heavy heart.
21If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; And if he be thirsty, give him water to drink:
22For thou wilt heap coals of fire upon his head, And Jehovah will reward thee.
23The north wind bringeth forth rain: So doth a backbiting tongue an angry countenance.
24It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop, Than with a contentious woman in a wide house.
25`As' cold waters to a thirsty soul, So is good news from a far country.
26`As' a troubled fountain, and a corrupted spring, `So is' a righteous man that giveth way before the wicked.
27It is not good to eat much honey: So `for men' to search out their own glory is grievous.
28He whose spirit is without restraint Is `like' a city that is broken down and without walls.
1이것도 솔로몬의 잠언이요 유다 왕 히스기야의 신하들이 편집한 것이니라
2일을 숨기는 것은 하나님의 영화요 일을 살피는 것은 왕의 영화니라
3하늘의 높음과 땅의 깊음 같이 왕의 마음은 헤아릴 수 없느니라
4은에서 찌꺼기를 제하라 그리하면 장색의 쓸 만한 그릇이 나올 것이요
5왕 앞에서 악한 자를 제하라 그리하면 그의 왕위가 의로 말이암아 견고히 서리라
6왕 앞에서 스스로 높은 체하지 말며 대인들의 자리에 서지 말라
7이는 사람이 네게 이리로 올라 오라고 말하는 것이 네 눈에 보이는 귀인 앞에서 저리로 내려 가라고 말하는 것보다 나음이니라
8너는 서둘러 나가서 다투지 말라 마침내 네가 이웃에게서 욕을 보게 될 때에 네가 어찌할 줄을 알지 못할까 두려우니라
9너는 이웃과 다투거든 변론만 하고 남의 은밀한 일은 누설하지 말라
10듣는 자가 너를 꾸짖을 터이요 또 네게 대한 악평이 네게서 떠나지 아니할까 두려우니라
11경우에 합당한 말은 아로새긴 은 쟁반에 금 사과니라
12슬기로운 자의 책망은 청종하는 귀에 금 고리와 정금 장식이니라
13충성된 사자는 그를 보낸 이에게 마치 추수하는 날에 얼음 냉수 같아서 능히 그 주인의 마음을 시원하게 하느니라
14선물한다고 거짓 자랑하는 자는 비 없는 구름과 바람 같으니라
15오래 참으면 관원도 설득할 수 있나니 부드러운 혀는 뼈를 꺾느니라
16너는 꿀을 보거든 족하리만큼 먹으라 과식함으로 토할까 두려우니라
17너는 이웃집에 자주 다니지 말라 그가 너를 싫어하며 미워할까 두려우니라
18자기의 이웃을 쳐서 거짓 증거 하는 사람은 방망이요 칼이요 뾰족한 화살이니라
19환난 날에 진실하지 못한 자를 의뢰하는 것은 부러진 이와 위골된 발 같으니라
20마음이 상한 자에게 노래하는 것은 추운 날에 옷을 벗음 같고 소다 위에 식초를 부음 같으니라
21네 원수가 배고파하거든 음식을 먹이고 목말라하거든 물을 마시게 하라
22그리 하는 것은 핀 숯을 그의 머리에 놓는 것과 일반이요 여호와께서 네게 갚아 주시리라
23북풍이 비를 일으킴 같이 참소하는 혀는 사람의 얼굴에 분을 일으키느니라
24다투는 여인과 함께 큰 집에서 사는 것보다 움막에서 혼자 사는 것이 나으니라
25먼 땅에서 오는 좋은 기별은 목마른 사람에게 냉수와 같으니라
26의인이 악인 앞에 굴복하는 것은 우물이 흐려짐과 샘이 더러워짐과 같으니라
27꿀을 많이 먹는 것이 좋지 못하고 자기의 영예를 구하는 것이 헛되니라
28자기의 마음을 제어하지 아니하는 자는 성읍이 무너지고 성벽이 없는 것과 같으니라

1하늘에 계시는 주여 내가 눈을 들어 주께 향하나이다
2상전의 손을 바라보는 종들의 눈 같이, 여주인의 손을 바라보는 여종의 눈 같이 우리의 눈이 여호와 우리 하나님을 바라보며 우리에게 은혜 베풀어 주시기를 기다리나이다

1If it had not been Jehovah who was on our side, Let Israel now say,
2If it had not been Jehovah who was on our side, When men rose up against us;
3Then they had swallowed us up alive, When their wrath was kindled against us;
4Then the waters had overwhelmed us, The stream had gone over our soul;
5Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.
6Blessed be Jehovah, Who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.
7Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: The snare is broken, and we are escaped.

1이스라엘은 이제 말하기를 여호와께서 우리 편에 계시지 아니하셨더라면 우리가 어떻게 하였으랴
2사람들이 우리를 치러 일어날 때에 여호와께서 우리 편에 계시지 아니하셨더라면
3그 때에 그들의 노여움이 우리에게 맹렬하여 우리를 산채로 삼켰을 것이며

1They that trust in Jehovah Are as mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abideth for ever.
2As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, So Jehovah is round about his people From this time forth and for evermore.
3For the sceptre of wickedness shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; That the righteous put not forth their hands unto iniquity.
4Do good, O Jehovah, unto those that are good, And to them that are upright in their hearts.
5But as for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways, Jehovah will lead them forth with the workers of iniquity. Peace be upon Israel. Psalm 126 A Song of Ascents.
