1The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father; But a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.

2Treasures of wickedness profit nothing; But righteousness delivereth from death.

3Jehovah will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish; But he thrusteth away the desire of the wicked.

4He becometh poor that worketh with a slack hand; But the hand of the diligent maketh rich.

5He that gathereth in summer is a wise son; `But' he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.

6Blessings are upon the head of the righteous; But violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.

7The memory of the righteous is blessed; But the name of the wicked shall rot.

8The wise in heart will receive commandments; But a prating fool shall fall.

9He that walketh uprightly walketh surely; But he that perverteth his ways shall be known.

10He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow; But a prating fool shall fall.

11The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life; But violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.

12Hatred stirreth up strifes; But love covereth all transgressions.

13In the lips of him that hath discernment wisdom is found; But a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.

14Wise men lay up knowledge; But the mouth of the foolish is a present destruction.

15The rich man's wealth is his strong city: The destruction of the poor is their poverty.

16The labor of the righteous `tendeth' to life; The increase of the wicked, to sin.

17He is in the way of life that heedeth correction; But he that forsaketh reproof erreth.

18He that hideth hatred is of lying lips; And he that uttereth a slander is a fool.

19In the multitude of words there wanteth not transgression; But he that refraineth his lips doeth wisely.

20The tongue of the righteous is `as' choice silver: The heart of the wicked is little worth.

21The lips of the righteous feed many; But the foolish die for lack of understanding.

22The blessing of Jehovah, it maketh rich; And he addeth no sorrow therewith.

23It is as sport to a fool to do wickedness; And `so is' wisdom to a man of understanding.

24The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him; And the desire of the righteous shall be granted.

25When the whirlwind passeth, the wicked is no more; But the righteous is an everlasting foundation.

26As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, So is the sluggard to them that send him.

27The fear of Jehovah prolongeth days; But the years of the wicked shall be shortened.

28The hope of the righteous `shall be' gladness; But the expectation of the wicked shall perish.

29The way of Jehovah is a stronghold to the upright; But it is a destruction to the workers of iniquity.

30The righteous shall never be removed; But the wicked shall not dwell in the land.

31The mouth of the righteous bringeth forth wisdom; But the perverse tongue shall be cut off.

32The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable; But the mouth of the wicked `speaketh' perverseness.

1솔로몬의 잠언이라 지혜로운 아들은 아비를 기쁘게 하거니와 미련한 아들은 어미의 근심이니라

2불의의 재물은 무익하여도 공의는 죽음에서 건지느니라

3여호와께서 의인의 영혼은 주리지 않게 하시나 악인의 소욕은 물리치시느니라

4손을 게으르게 놀리는 자는 가난하게 되고 손이 부지런한 자는 부하게 되느니라

5여름에 거두는 자는 지혜로운 아들이나 추수 때에 자는 자는 부끄러움을 끼치는 아들이니라

6의인의 머리에는 복이 임하나 악인의 입은 독을 머금었느니라

7의인을 기념할 때에는 칭찬하거니와 악인의 이름은 썩게 되느니라

8마음이 지혜로운 자는 계명을 받거니와 입이 미련한 자는 멸망하리라

9바른 길로 행하는 자는 걸음이 평안하려니와 굽은 길로 행하는 자는 드러나리라

10눈짓하는 자는 근심을 끼치고 입이 미련한 자는 멸망하느니라

11의인의 입은 생명의 샘이라도 악인의 입은 독을 머금었느니라

12미움은 다툼을 일으켜도 사랑은 모든 허물을 가리느니라

13명철한 자의 입술에는 지혜가 있어도 지혜 없는 자의 등을 위하여는 채찍이 있느니라

14지혜로운 자는 지식을 간직하거니와 미련한 자의 입은 멸망에 가까우니라

15부자의 재물은 그의 견고한 성이요 가난한 자의 궁핍은 그의 멸망이니라

16의인의 수고는 생명에 이르고 악인의 소득은 죄에 이르느니라

17훈계를 지키는 자는 생명 길로 행하여도 징계를 버리는 자는 그릇 가느니라

18미움을 감추는 자는 거짓된 입술을 가진 자요 중상하는 자는 미련한 자이니라

19말이 많으면 허물을 면하기 어려우나 그 입술을 제어하는 자는 지혜가 있느니라

20의인의 혀는 순은과 같거니와 악인의 마음은 가치가 적으니라

21의인의 입술은 여러 사람을 교육하나 미련한 자는 지식이 없어 죽느니라

22여호와께서 주시는 복은 사람을 부하게 하고 근심을 겸하여 주지 아니하시느니라

23미련한 자는 행악으로 낙을 삼는 것 같이 명철한 자는 지혜로 낙을 삼느니라

24악인에게는 그의 두려워하는 것이 임하거니와 의인은 그 원하는 것이 이루어지느니라

25회오리바람이 지나가면 악인은 없어져도 의인은 영원한 기초 같으니라

26게으른 자는 그 부리는 사람에게 마치 이에 식초 같고 눈에 연기 같으니라

27여호와를 경외하면 장수하느니라 그러나 악인의 수명은 짧아지느니라

28의인의 소망은 즐거움을 이루어도 악인의 소망은 끊어지느니라

29여호와의 도가 정직한 자에게는 산성이요 행악하는 자에게는 멸망이니라

30의인은 영영히 이동되지 아니하여도 악인은 땅에 거하지 못하게 되느니라

31의인의 입은 지혜를 내어도 패역한 혀는 베임을 당할 것이니라

32의인의 입술은 기쁘게 할 것을 알거늘 악인의 입은 패역을 말하느니라

1God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.

2Therefore will we not fear, though the earth do change, And though the mountains be shaken into the heart of the seas;

3Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, Though the mountains tremble with the swelling thereof. Selah

4There is a river, the streams whereof make glad the city of God, The holy place of the tabernacles of the Most High.

5God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God will help her, and that right early.

6The nations raged, the kingdoms were moved: He uttered his voice, the earth melted.

7Jehovah of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah

8Come, behold the works of Jehovah, What desolations he hath made in the earth.

9He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; He breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; He burneth the chariots in the fire.

10Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.

1하나님은 우리의 피난처시요 힘이시니 환난 중에 만날 큰 도움이시라

2그러므로 땅이 변하든지 산이 흔들려 바다 가운데에 빠지든지

3바닷물이 솟아나고 뛰놀든지 그것이 넘침으로 산이 흔들릴지라도 우리는 두려워하지 아니하리로다 (셀라)

4한 시내가 있어 나뉘어 흘러 하나님의 성 곧 지존하신 이의 성소를 기쁘게 하도다

5하나님이 그 성 중에 계시매 성이 흔들리지 아니할 것이라 새벽에 하나님이 도우시리로다

6뭇 나라가 떠들며 왕국이 흔들렸더니 그가 소리를 내시매 땅이 녹았도다

7만군의 여호와께서 우리와 함께 하시니 야곱의 하나님은 우리의 피난처시로다 (셀라)

8와서 여호와의 행적을 볼지어다 그가 땅을 황무지로 만드셨도다

9그가 땅 끝까지 전쟁을 쉬게 하심이여 활을 꺾고 창을 끊으며 수레를 불사르시는도다

10이르시기를 너희는 가만히 있어 내가 하나님 됨을 알지어다 내가 뭇 나라 중에서 높임을 받으리라 내가 세계 중에서 높임을 받으리라 하시도다

11만군의 여호와께서 우리와 함께 하시니 야곱의 하나님은 우리의 피난처시로다 (셀라)

1Oh clap your hands, all ye peoples; Shout unto God with the voice of triumph.

2For Jehovah Most High is terrible; He is a great King over all the earth.

3He subdueth peoples under us, And nations under our feet.

4He chooseth our inheritance for us, The glory of Jacob whom he loved. Selah

5God is gone up with a shout, Jehovah with the sound of a trumpet.

6Sing praise to God, sing praises: Sing praises unto our King, sing praises.

7For God is the King of all the earth: Sing ye praises with understanding.

8God reigneth over the nations: God sitteth upon his holy throne.

9The princes of the peoples are gathered together `To be' the people of the God of Abraham: For the shields of the earth belong unto God; He is greatly exalted. Psalm 48 A Song; a Psalm of the sons of Korah.

1너희 만민들아 손바닥을 치고 즐거운 소리로 하나님께 외칠지어다

2지존하신 여호와는 두려우시고 온 땅에 큰 왕이 되심이로다

3여호와께서 만민을 우리에게, 나라들을 우리 발 아래에 복종하게 하시며

4우리를 위하여 기업을 택하시나니 곧 사랑하신 야곱의 영화로다 (셀라)

5하나님께서 즐거운 함성 중에 올라가심이여 여호와께서 나팔 소리 중에 올라가시도다

6찬송하라 하나님을 찬송하라 찬송하라 우리 왕을 찬송하라

7하나님은 온 땅의 왕이심이라 지혜의 시로 찬송할지어다

8하나님이 뭇 백성을 다스리시며 하나님이 그의 거룩한 보좌에 앉으셨도다

9뭇 나라의 고관들이 모임이여 아브라함의 하나님의 백성이 되도다 세상의 모든 방패는 하나님의 것임이여 그는 높임을 받으시리로다

1Great is Jehovah, and greatly to be praised, In the city of our God, in his holy mountain.

2Beautiful in elevation, the joy of the whole earth, Is mount Zion, `on' the sides of the north, The city of the great King.

3God hath made himself known in her palaces for a refuge.

4For, lo, the kings assembled themselves, They passed by together.

5They saw it, then were they amazed; They were dismayed, they hasted away.

6Trembling took hold of them there, Pain, as of a woman in travail.

7With the east wind Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish.

8As we have heard, so have we seen In the city of Jehovah of hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish it for ever. Selah

9We have thought on thy lovingkindness, O God, In the midst of thy temple.

10As is thy name, O God, So is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: Thy right hand is full of righteousness.

11Let mount Zion be glad, Let the daughters of Judah rejoice, Because of thy judgments.

12Walk about Zion, and go round about her; Number the towers thereof;

13Mark ye well her bulwarks; Consider her palaces: That ye may tell it to the generation following.

1여호와는 위대하시니 우리 하나님의 성, 거룩한 산에서 극진히 찬양 받으시리로다

2터가 높고 아름다워 온 세계가 즐거워함이여 큰 왕의 성 곧 북방에 있는 시온 산이 그러하도다

3하나님이 그 여러 궁중에서 자기를 요새로 알리셨도다

4왕들이 모여서 함께 지나갔음이여

5그들이 보고 놀라고 두려워 빨리 지나갔도다

6거기서 떨림이 그들을 사로잡으니 고통이 해산하는 여인의 고통 같도다

7주께서 동풍으로 다시스의 배를 깨뜨리시도다

8우리가 들은 대로 만군의 여호와의 성, 우리 하나님의 성에서 보았나니 하나님이 이를 영원히 견고하게 하시리로다 (셀라)

9하나님이여 우리가 주의 전 가운데에서 주의 인자하심을 생각하였나이다

10하나님이여 주의 이름과 같이 찬송도 땅 끝까지 미쳤으며 주의 오른손에는 정의가 충만하였나이다

11주의 심판으로 말미암아 시온 산은 기뻐하고 유다의 딸들은 즐거워할지어다

12너희는 시온을 돌면서 그 곳을 둘러보고 그 망대들을 세어 보라

13그의 성벽을 자세히 보고 그의 궁전을 살펴서 후대에 전하라

14이 하나님은 영원히 우리 하나님이시니 그가 우리를 죽을 때까지 인도하시리로다

1Hear this, all ye peoples; Give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world,

2Both low and high, Rich and poor together.

3My mouth shall speak wisdom; And the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.

4I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp.

5Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, When iniquity at my heels compasseth me about?

6They that trust in their wealth, And boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;

7None `of them' can by any means redeem his brother, Nor give to God a ransom for him;

8(For the redemption of their life is costly, And it faileth for ever;)

9That he should still live alway, That he should not see corruption.

10For he shall see it. Wise men die; The fool and the brutish alike perish, And leave their wealth to others.

11Their inward thought is, `that' their houses `shall continue' for ever, `And' their dwelling-places to all generations; They call their lands after their own names.

12But man `being' in honor abideth not: He is like the beasts that perish.

13This their way is their folly: Yet after them men approve their sayings. Selah

14They are appointed as a flock for Sheol; Death shall be their shepherd; And the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; And their beauty shall be for Sheol to consume, That there be no habitation for it.

15But God will redeem my soul from the power of Sheol; For he will receive me. Selah

16Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, When the glory of his house is increased.

17For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away; His glory shall not descend after him.

18Though while he lived he blessed his soul (And men praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself,)

19He shall go to the generation of his fathers; They shall never see the light.

20Man that is in honor, and understandeth not, Is like the beasts that perish. Psalm 50 A Psalm of Asaph.

1뭇 백성들아 이를 들으라 세상의 거민들아 모두 귀를 기울이라

2귀천 빈부를 막론하고 다 들을지어다

3내 입은 지혜를 말하겠고 내 마음은 명철을 작은 소리로 읊조리리로다

4내가 비유에 내 귀를 기울이고 수금으로 나의 오묘한 말을 풀리로다

5죄악이 나를 따라다니며 나를 에워싸는 환난의 날을 내가 어찌 두려워하랴

6자기의 재물을 의지하고 부유함을 자랑하는 자는

7아무도 자기의 형제를 구원하지 못하며 그를 위한 속전을 하나님께 바치지도 못할 것은

8그들의 생명을 속량하는 값이 너무 엄청나서 영원히 마련하지 못할 것임이니라

9그가 영원히 살아서 죽음을 보지 않을 것인가

10그러나 그는 지혜 있는 자도 죽고 어리석고 무지한 자도 함께 망하며 그들의 재물은 남에게 남겨 두고 떠나는 것을 보게 되리로다

11그러나 그들의 속 생각에 그들의 집은 영원히 있고 그들의 거처는 대대에 이르리라 하여 그들의 토지를 자기 이름으로 부르도다

12사람은 존귀하나 장구하지 못함이여 멸망하는 짐승 같도다

13이것이 바로 어리석은 자들의 길이며 그들의 말을 기뻐하는 자들의 종말이로다 (셀라)

14그들은 양 같이 스올에 두기로 작정되었으니 사망이 그들의 목자일 것이라 정직한 자들이 아침에 그들을 다스리리니 그들의 아름다움은 소멸하고 스올이 그들의 거처가 되리라

15그러나 하나님은 나를 영접하시리니 이러므로 내 영혼을 스올의 권세에서 건져내시리로다(셀라)

16사람이 치부하여 그의 집의 영광이 더할 때에 너는 두려워하지 말지어다

17그가 죽으매 가져가는 것이 없고 그의 영광이 그를 따라 내려가지 못함이로다

18그가 비록 생시에 자기를 축하하며 스스로 좋게 함으로 사람들에게 칭찬을 받을지라도

19그들은 그들의 역대 조상들에게로 돌아가리니 영원히 빛을 보지 못하리로다

20존귀하나 깨닫지 못하는 사람은 멸망하는 짐승 같도다

1The Mighty One, God, Jehovah, hath spoken, And called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.

2Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined forth.

3Our God cometh, and doth not keep silence: A fire devoureth before him, And it is very tempestuous round about him.

4He calleth to the heavens above, And to the earth, that he may judge his people:

5Gather my saints together unto me, Those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.

6And the heavens shall declare his righteousness; For God is judge himself. Selah

7Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify unto thee: I am God, `even' thy God.

8I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices; And thy burnt-offerings are continually before me.

9I will take no bullock out of thy house, Nor he-goats out of thy folds.

10For every beast of the forest is mine, And the cattle upon a thousand hills.

11I know all the birds of the mountains; And the wild beasts of the field are mine.

12If I were hungry, I would not tell thee; For the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.

13Will I eat the flesh of bulls, Or drink the blood of goats?

14Offer unto God the sacrifice of thanksgiving; And pay thy vows unto the Most High:

15And call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

16But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, And that thou hast taken my covenant in thy mouth,

17Seeing thou hatest instruction, And castest my words behind thee?

18When thou sawest a thief, thou consentedst with him, And hast been partaker with adulterers.

19Thou givest thy mouth to evil, And thy tongue frameth deceit.

20Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; Thou slanderest thine own mother's son.

21These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; Thou thoughtest that I was altogether such a one as thyself: `But' I will reprove thee, and set `them' in order before thine eyes.

22Now consider this, ye that forget God, Lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver:

23Whoso offereth the sacrifice of thanksgiving glorifieth me; And to him that ordereth his way `aright' Will I show the salvation of God. Psalm 51 For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David; when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba.

1전능하신 이 여호와 하나님께서 말씀하사 해 돋는 데서부터 지는 데까지 세상을 부르셨도 다

2온전히 아름다운 시온에서 하나님이 빛을 비추셨도다

3우리 하나님이 오사 잠잠하지 아니하시니 그 앞에는 삼키는 불이 있고 그 사방에는 광풍이 불리로다

4하나님이 자기의 백성을 판결하시려고 위 하늘과 아래 땅에 선포하여

5이르시되 나의 성도들을 내 앞에 모으라 그들은 제사로 나와 언약한 이들이니라 하시도다

6하늘이 그의 공의를 선포하리니 하나님 그는 심판장이심이로다 (셀라)

7내 백성아 들을지어다 내가 말하리라 이스라엘아 내가 네게 증언하리라 나는 하나님 곧 네 하나님이로다

8나는 네 제물 때문에 너를 책망하지 아니하리니 네 번제가 항상 내 앞에 있음이로다

9내가 네 집에서 수소나 네 우리에서 숫염소를 가져가지 아니하리니

10이는 삼림의 짐승들과 뭇 산의 가축이 다 내 것이며

11산의 모든 새들도 내가 아는 것이며 들의 짐승도 내 것임이로다

12내가 가령 주려도 네게 이르지 아니할 것은 세계와 거기에 충만한 것이 내 것임이로다

13내가 수소의 고기를 먹으며 염소의 피를 마시겠느냐

14감사로 하나님께 제사를 드리며 지존하신 이에게 네 서원을 갚으며

15환난 날에 나를 부르라 내가 너를 건지리니 네가 나를 영화롭게 하리로다

16악인에게는 하나님이 이르시되 네가 어찌하여 내 율례를 전하며 내 언약을 네 입에 두느냐

17네가 교훈을 미워하고 내 말을 네 뒤로 던지며

18도둑을 본즉 그와 연합하고 간음하는 자들과 동료가 되며

19네 입을 악에게 내어 주고 네 혀로 거짓을 꾸미며

20앉아서 네 형제를 공박하며 네 어머니의 아들을 비방하는도다

21네가 이 일을 행하여도 내가 잠잠하였더니 네가 나를 너와 같은 줄로 생각하였도다 그러나 내가 너를 책망하여 네 죄를 네 눈 앞에 낱낱이 드러내리라 하시는도다

22하나님을 잊어버린 너희여 이제 이를 생각하라 그렇지 아니하면 내가 너희를 찢으리니 건질 자 없으리라

23감사로 제사를 드리는 자가 나를 영화롭게 하나니 그의 행위를 옳게 하는 자에게 내가 하나님의 구원을 보이리라
