1My son, forget not my law; But let thy heart keep my commandments:

2For length of days, and years of life, And peace, will they add to thee.

3Let not kindness and truth forsake thee: Bind them about thy neck; Write them upon the tablet of thy heart:

4So shalt thou find favor and good understanding In the sight of God and man.

5Trust in Jehovah with all thy heart, And lean not upon thine own understanding:

6In all thy ways acknowledge him, And he will direct thy paths.

7Be not wise in thine own eyes; Fear Jehovah, and depart from evil:

8It will be health to thy navel, And marrow to thy bones.

9Honor Jehovah with thy substance, And with the first-fruits of all thine increase:

10So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, And thy vats shall overflow with new wine.

11My son, despise not the chastening of Jehovah; Neither be weary of his reproof:

12For whom Jehovah loveth he reproveth; Even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

13Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, And the man that getteth understanding.

14For the gaining of it is better than the gaining of silver, And the profit thereof than fine gold.

15She is more precious than rubies: And none of the things thou canst desire are to be compared unto her.

16Length of days is in her right hand; In her left hand are riches and honor.

17Her ways are ways of pleasantness, And all her paths are peace.

18She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: And happy is every one that retaineth her.

19Jehovah by wisdom founded the earth; By understanding he established the heavens.

20By his knowledge the depths were broken up, And the skies drop down the dew.

21My son, let them not depart from thine eyes; Keep sound wisdom and discretion:

22So shall they be life unto thy soul, And grace to thy neck.

23Then shalt thou walk in thy way securely, And thy foot shall not stumble.

24When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: Yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.

25Be not afraid of sudden fear, Neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh:

26For Jehovah will be thy confidence, And will keep thy foot from being taken.

27Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, When it is in the power of thy hand to do it.

28Say not unto thy neighbor, Go, and come again, And to-morrow I will give; When thou hast it by thee.

29Devise not evil against thy neighbor, Seeing he dwelleth securely by thee.

30Strive not with a man without cause, If he have done thee no harm.

31Envy thou not the man of violence, And choose none of his ways.

32For the perverse is an abomination to Jehovah; But his friendship is with the upright.

33The curse of Jehovah is in the house of the wicked; But he blesseth the habitation of the righteous.

34Surely he scoffeth at the scoffers; But he giveth grace unto the lowly.

35The wise shall inherit glory; But shame shall be the promotion of fools.

1내 아들아 나의 법을 잊어버리지 말고 네 마음으로 나의 명령을 지키라

2그리하면 그것이 네가 장수하여 많은 해를 누리게 하며 평강을 더하게 하리라

3인자와 진리가 네게서 떠나지 말게 하고 그것을 네 목에 매며 네 마음판에 새기라

4그리하면 네가 하나님과 사람 앞에서 은총과 귀중히 여김을 받으리라

5너는 마음을 다하여 여호와를 신뢰하고 네 명철을 의지하지 말라

6너는 범사에 그를 인정하라 그리하면 네 길을 지도하시리라

7스스로 지혜롭게 여기지 말지어다 여호와를 경외하며 악을 떠날지어다

8이것이 네 몸에 양약이 되어 네 골수를 윤택하게 하리라

9네 재물과 네 소산물의 처음 익은 열매로 여호와를 공경하라

10그리하면 네 창고가 가득히 차고 네 포도즙 틀에 새 포도즙이 넘치리라

11내 아들아 여호와의 징계를 경히 여기지 말라 그 꾸지람을 싫어하지 말라

12대저 여호와께서 그 사랑하시는 자를 징계하시기를 마치 아비가 그 기뻐하는 아들을 징계함 같이 하시느니라

13지혜를 얻은 자와 명철을 얻은 자는 복이 있나니

14이는 지혜를 얻는 것이 은을 얻는 것보다 낫고 그 이익이 정금보다 나음이니라

15지혜는 진주보다 귀하니 네가 사모하는 모든 것으로도 이에 비교할 수 없도다

16그의 오른손에는 장수가 있고 그의 왼손에는 부귀가 있나니

17그 길은 즐거운 길이요 그의 지름길은 다 평강이니라

18지혜는 그 얻은 자에게 생명 나무라 지혜를 가진 자는 복되도다

19여호와께서는 지혜로 땅에 터를 놓으셨으며 명철로 하늘을 견고히 세우셨고

20그의 지식으로 깊은 바다를 갈라지게 하셨으며 공중에서 이슬이 내리게 하셨느니라

21내 아들아 완전한 지혜와 근신을 지키고 이것들이 네 눈 앞에서 떠나지 말게 하라

22그리하면 그것이 네 영혼의 생명이 되며 네 목에 장식이 되리니

23네가 네 길을 평안히 행하겠고 네 발이 거치지 아니하겠으며

24네가 누울 때에 두려워하지 아니하겠고 네가 누운즉 네 잠이 달리로다

25너는 갑작스러운 두려움도 악인에게 닥치는 멸망도 두려워하지 말라

26대저 여호와는 네가 의지할 이시니라 네 발을 지켜 걸리지 않게 하시리라

27네 손이 선을 베풀 힘이 있거든 마땅히 받을 자에게 베풀기를 아끼지 말며

28네게 있거든 이웃에게 이르기를 갔다가 다시 오라 내일 주겠노라 하지 말며

29네 이웃이 네 곁에서 평안히 살거든 그를 해하려고 꾀하지 말며

30사람이 네게 악을 행하지 아니 하였거든 까닭 없이 더불어 다투지 말며

31포학한 자를 부러워하지 말며 그의 어떤 행위도 따르지 말라

32대저 패역한 자는 여호와께서 미워하시나 정직한 자에게는 그의 교통하심이 있으며

33악인의 집에는 여호와의 저주가 있거니와 의인의 집에는 복이 있느리라

34진실로 그는 거만한 자를 비웃으시며 겸손한 자에게 은혜를 베푸시나니

35지혜로운 자는 영광을 기업으로 받거니와 미련한 자의 영달함은 수치가 되느니라

1In Jehovah do I take refuge: How say ye to my soul, Flee `as' a bird to your mountain;

2For, lo, the wicked bend the bow, They make ready their arrow upon the string, That they may shoot in darkness at the upright in heart;

3If the foundations be destroyed, What can the righteous do?

4Jehovah is in his holy temple; Jehovah, his throne is in heaven; His eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.

5Jehovah trieth the righteous; But the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.

6Upon the wicked he will rain snares; Fire and brimstone and burning wind shall be the portion of their cup.

1내가 여호와께 피하였거늘 너희가 내 영혼에게 새 같이 네 산으로 도망하라 함은 어찌함인가

2악인이 활을 당기고 화살을 시위에 먹임이여 마음이 바른 자를 어두운데서 쏘려 하는도다

3터가 무너지면 의인이 무엇을 하랴

4여호와께서는 그의 성전에 계시고 여호와의 보좌는 하늘에 있음이여 그의 눈이 인생을 통촉하시고 그의 안목이 그들을 감찰하시도다

5여호와는 의인을 감찰하시고 악인과 폭력을 좋아하는 자를 마음에 미워하시도다

6악인에게 그물을 던지시리니 불과 유황과 태우는 바람이 그들의 잔의 소득이 되리로다

7여호와는 의로우사 의로운 일을 좋아하시나니 정직한 자는 그의 얼굴을 뵈오리로다

1Help, Jehovah; for the godly man ceaseth; For the faithful fail from among the children of men.

2They speak falsehood every one with his neighbor: With flattering lip, and with a double heart, do they speak.

3Jehovah will cut off all flattering lips, The tongue that speaketh great things;

4Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; Our lips are our own: who is lord over us?

5Because of the oppression of the poor, because of the sighing of the needy, Now will I arise, saith Jehovah; I will set him in the safety he panteth for.

6The words of Jehovah are pure words; As silver tried in a furnace on the earth, Purified seven times.

7Thou wilt keep them, O Jehovah, Thou wilt preserve them from this generation for ever.

1여호와여 도우소서 경건한 자가 끊어지며 충실한 자들이 인생 중에 없어지나이다

2그들이 이웃에게 각기 거짓을 말함이여 아첨하는 입술과 두 마음으로 말하는도다

3여호와께서 모든 아첨하는 입술과 자랑하는 혀를 끊으시리니

4그들이 말하기를 우리의 혀가 이기리라 우리 입술은 우리 것이니 우리를 주관할 자 누구리요 함이로다

5여호와의 말씀에 가련한 자들의 눌림과 궁핍한 자들의 탄식으로 말미암아 내가 이제 일어나 그를 그가 원하는 안전한 지대에 두리라 하시도다

6여호와의 말씀은 순결함이여 흙 도가니에 일곱 번 단련한 은 같도다

7여호와여 그들을 지키사 이 세대로부터 영원까지 보존하시리이다

8비열함이 인생 중에 높임을 받는 때에 악인들이 곳곳에서 날뛰는도다

1How long, O Jehovah? wilt thou forget me for ever? How long wilt thou hide thy face from me?

2How long shall I take counsel in my soul, Having sorrow in my heart all the day? How long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?

3Consider `and' answer me, O Jehovah my God: Lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the `sleep of' death;

4Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; `Lest' mine adversaries rejoice when I am moved.

5But I have trusted in thy lovingkindness; My heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.

1여호와여 어느 때까지니이까 나를 영원히 잊으시나이까 주의 얼굴을 나에게서 어느 때까지 숨기시겠나이까

2나의 영혼이 번민하고 종일토록 마음에 근심하기를 어느 때까지 하오며 내 원수가 나를 치며 자랑하기를 어느 때까지 하리이까

3여호와 내 하나님이여 나를 생각하사 응답하시고 나의 눈을 밝히소서 두렵건대 내가 사망의 잠을 잘까 하오며

4두렵건대 나의 원수가 이르기를 내가 그를 이겼다 할까 하오며 내가 흔들릴 때에 나의 대적들이 기뻐할까 하나이다

5나는 오직 주의 사랑을 의지하였사오니 나의 마음은 주의 구원을 기뻐하리이다

6내가 여호와를 찬송하리니 이는 주에서 내게 은덕을 베푸심이로다

1The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works; There is none that doeth good.

2Jehovah looked down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there were any that did understand, That did seek after God.

3They are all gone aside; they are together become filthy; There is none that doeth good, no, not one.

4Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, Who eat up my people `as' they eat bread, And call not upon Jehovah?

5There were they in great fear; For God is in the generation of the righteous.

6Ye put to shame the counsel of the poor, Because Jehovah is his refuge.

7Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When Jehovah bringeth back the captivity of his people, Then shall Jacob rejoice, `and' Israel shall be glad. Psalm 15 A Psalm of David.

1어리석은 자는 그의 마음에 이르기를 하나님이 없다 하는도다 그들은 부패하고 그 행실이 가증하니 선을 행하는 자가 없도다

2여호와께서 하늘에서 인생을 굽어살피사 지각이 있어 하나님을 찾는 자가 있는가 보려 하신즉

3다 치우쳐 함께 더러운 자가 되고 선을 행하는 자가 없으니 하나도 없도다

4죄악을 행하는 자는 다 무지하냐 그들이 떡 먹듯이 내 백성을 먹으면서 여호와를 부르지 아니하는도다

5그러나 거기서 그들은 두려워하고 두려워하였으니 하나님이 의인의 세대에 계심이로다

6너희가 가난한 자의 계획을 부끄럽게 하나 오직 여호와는 그이 피난처가 되시도다

7이스라엘의 구원이 시온에서 나오기를 원하도다 여호와께서 그의 백성을 포로된 곳에서 돌이키실 때에 야곱이 즐거워하고 이스라엘이 기뻐하리로다

1Jehovah, who shall sojourn in thy tabernacle? Who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

2He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, And speaketh truth in his heart;

3He that slandereth not with his tongue, Nor doeth evil to his friend, Nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbor;

4In whose eyes a reprobate is despised, But who honoreth them that fear Jehovah; He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not;

5He that putteth not out his money to interest, Nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved. Psalm 16 Michtam of David.

1여호와여 주의 장막에 머무는 자 누구오며 주의 성산에 사는 자 누구오니이까

2정직하게 행하며 공의를 실천하며 그의 마음에 진실을 말하며

3그의 혀로 남을 허물하지 아니하고 그의 이웃에게 악을 행하지 아니하며 그의 이웃을 비방하지 아니하며

4그의 눈은 망령된 자를 멸시하며 여호와를 두려워하는 자들을 존대하며 그의 마음에 서원한 것은 해로울지라도 변하지 아니하며

5이자를 받으려고 돈을 꾸어 주지 아니하며 뇌물을 받고 무죄한 자를 해하지 아니하는 자이니 이런 일을 행하는 자는 영원히 흔들리지 아니하리이다
