1And it came to pass in the sixth year, in the sixth `month', in the fifth `day' of the month, as I sat in my house, and the elders of Judah sat before me, that the hand of the Lord Jehovah fell there upon me.
2Then I beheld, and, lo, a likeness as the appearance of fire; from the appearance of his loins and downward, fire; and from his loins and upward, as the appearance of brightness, as it were glowing metal.
3And he put forth the form of a hand, and took me by a lock of my head; and the Spirit lifted me up between earth and heaven, and brought me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the gate of the inner `court' that looketh toward the north; where was the seat of the image of jealousy, which provoketh to jealousy.
4And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel was there, according to the appearance that I saw in the plain.
5Then said he unto me, Son of man, lift up thine eyes now the way toward the north. So I lifted up mine eyes the way toward the north, and behold, northward of the gate of the altar this image of jealousy in the entry.
6And he said unto me, Son of man, seest thou what they do? even the great abominations that the house of Israel do commit here, that I should go far off from my sanctuary? but thou shalt again see yet other great abominations.
7And he brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, behold, a hole in the wall.
8Then said he unto me, Son of man, dig now in the wall: and when I had digged in the wall, behold, a door.
9And he said unto me, Go in, and see the wicked abominations that they do here.
10So I went in and saw; and behold, every form of creeping things, and abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, portrayed upon the wall round about.
11And there stood before them seventy men of the elders of the house of Israel; and in the midst of them stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan, every man with his censer in his hand; and the odor of the cloud of incense went up.
12Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the elders of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in his chambers of imagery? for they say, Jehovah seeth us not; Jehovah hath forsaken the land.
13He said also unto me, Thou shalt again see yet other great abominations which they do.
14Then he brought me to the door of the gate of Jehovah's house which was toward the north; and behold, there sat the women weeping for Tammuz.
15Then said he unto me, Hast thou seen `this', O son of man? thou shalt again see yet greater abominations than these.
16And he brought me into the inner court of Jehovah's house; and behold, at the door of the temple of Jehovah, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of Jehovah, and their faces toward the east; and they were worshipping the sun toward the east.
17Then he said unto me, Hast thou seen `this', O son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? for they have filled the land with violence, and have turned again to provoke me to anger: and, lo, they put the branch to their nose.
18Therefore will I also deal in wrath; mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity; and though they cry in mine ears with a loud voice, yet will I not hear them.
1여섯째 해 여섯째 달 초닷새에 나는 집에 앉았고 유다의 장로들은 내 앞에 앉아 있는데 주 여호와의 권능이 거기에서 내게 내리기로
2내가 보니 불 같은 형상이 있더라 그 허리 아래의 모양은 불 같고 허리 위에는 광채가 나서 단 쇠 같은데
3그가 손 같은 것을 펴서 내 머리털 한 모숨을 잡으며 주의 영이 나를 들어 천지 사이로 올리시고 하나님의 환상 가운데에 나를 이끌어 예루살렘으로 가서 안 뜰로 들어가는 북향한 문에 이르시니 거기에는 질투의 우상 곧 질투를 일어나게 하는 우상의 자리가 있는 곳이라
4이스라엘 하나님의 영광이 거기에 있는데 내가 들에서 본 모습과 같더라
5그가 내게 이르시되 인자야 이제 너는 눈을 들어 북쪽을 바라 보라 하시기로 내가 눈을 들어 북쪽을 바라보니 제단문 어귀 북쪽에 그 질투의 우상이 있더라
6그가 또 내게 이르시되 인자야 이스라엘 족속이 행하는 일을 보느냐 그들이 여기에서 크게 가증한 일을 행하여 나로 내 성소를 멀리 떠나게 하느니라 너는 다시 다른 큰 가증한 일을 보리라 하시더라
7그가 나를 이끌고 뜰 문에 이르시기로 내가 본즉 담에 구멍이 있더라
8그가 내게 이르시되 인자야 너는 이 담을 헐라 하시기로 내가 그 담을 허니 한 문이 있더라
9또 내게 이르시되 들어가서 그들이 거기에서 행하는 가증하고 악한 일을 보라 하시기로
10내가 들어가 보니 각양 곤충과 가증한 짐승과 이스라엘 족속의 모든 우상을 그 사방 벽에 그렸고
11이스라엘 족속의 장로 중 칠십 명이 그 앞에 섰으며 사반의 아들 야아사냐도 그 가운데에 섰고 각기 손에 향로를 들었는데 향연이 구름 같이 오르더라
12또 내게 이르시되 인자야 이스라엘 족속의 장로들이 각각 그 우상의 방안 어두운 가운데에서 행하는 것을 네가 보았느냐 그들이 이르기를 여호와께서 우리를 보지 아니하시며 여호와께서 이 땅을 버리셨다 하느니라
13또 내게 이르시되 너는 다시 그들이 행하는 바 다른 큰 가증한 일을 보리라 하시더라
14그가 또 나를 데리고 여호와의 전으로 들어가는 북문에 이르시기로 보니 거기에 여인들이 앉아 담무스를 위하여 애곡하더라
15그가 또 내게 이르시되 인자야 네가 그것을 보았느냐 너는 또 이보다 더 큰 가증한 일을 보리라 하시더라
16그가 또 나를 데리고 여호와의 성전 안뜰에 들어가시니라 보라 여호와의 성전 문 곧 현관과 제단 사이에서 약 스물다섯 명이 여호와의 성전을 등지고 낯을 동쪽으로 향하여 동쪽 태양에게 예배하더라
17또 내게 이르시되 인자야 네가 보았느냐 유다 족속이 여기에서 행한 가증한 일을 적다 하겠느냐 그들이 그 땅을 폭행으로 채우고 또 다시 내 노여움을 일으키며 심지어 나뭇가지를 그 코에 두었느니라
18그러므로 나도 분노로 갚아 불쌍히 여기지 아니하며 긍휼을 베풀지도 아니하리니 그들이 큰 소리로 내 귀에 부르짖을지라도 내가 듣지 아니하리라
In a world that constantly demands more — more productivity, more achievement, more anxiety — Psalm 23 speaks a radical word of rest. The shepherd does not drive the sheep; he leads them. There is a profound difference between a God who demands and a God who guides. Today, where do you need to let the Shepherd lead you into rest?

Lord, help me to trust you as my shepherd today. In the places where I feel lack, remind me of your abundance. In the moments of striving, call me back to rest in you. Amen.

잠언 28장
1The wicked flee when no man pursueth; But the righteous are bold as a lion.
2For the transgression of a land many are the princes thereof; But by men of understanding `and' knowledge the state `thereof' shall be prolonged.
3A needy man that oppresseth the poor Is `like' a sweeping rain which leaveth no food.
4They that forsake the law praise the wicked; But such as keep the law contend with them.
5Evil men understand not justice; But they that seek Jehovah understand all things.
6Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, Than he that is perverse in `his' ways, though he be rich.
7Whoso keepeth the law is a wise son; But he that is a companion of gluttons shameth his father.
8He that augmenteth his substance by interest and increase, Gathereth it for him that hath pity on the poor.
9He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, Even his prayer is an abomination.
10Whoso causeth the upright to go astray in an evil way, He shall fall himself into his own pit; But the perfect shall inherit good.
11The rich man is wise in his own conceit; But the poor that hath understanding searcheth him out.
12When the righteous triumph, there is great glory; But when the wicked rise, men hide themselves.
13He that covereth his transgressions shall not prosper: But whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall obtain mercy.
14Happy is the man that feareth alway; But he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.
15`As' a roaring lion, and a ranging bear, `So is' a wicked ruler over a poor people.
16The prince that lacketh understanding is also a great oppressor; `But' he that hateth covetousness shall prolong his days.
17A man that is laden with the blood of any person Shall flee unto the pit; let no man stay him.
18Whoso walketh uprightly shall be delivered; But he that is perverse in `his' ways shall fall at once.
19He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread; But he that followeth after vain `persons' shall have poverty enough.
20A faithful man shall abound with blessings; But he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be unpunished.
21To have respect of persons is not good; Neither that a man should transgress for a piece of bread.
22he that hath an evil eye hasteth after riches, And knoweth not that want shall come upon him.
23He that rebuketh a man shall afterward find more favor Than he that flattereth with the tongue.
24Whoso robbeth his father or his mother, and saith, It is no transgression, The same is the companion of a destroyer.
25He that is of a greedy spirit stirreth up strife; But he that putteth his trust in Jehovah shall be made fat.
26He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool; But whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.
27He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack; But he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse.
28When the wicked rise, men hide themselves; But when they perish, the righteous increase.
1악인은 쫓아오는 자가 없어도 도망하나 의인은 사자 같이 담대하니라
2나라는 죄가 있으면 주관자가 많아져도 명철과 지식 있는 사람으로 말미암아 장구하게 되느니라
3가난한 자를 학대하는 가난한 자는 곡식을 남기지 아니하는 폭우 같으니라
4율법을 버린 자는 악인을 칭찬 하나 율법을 지키는 자는 악인을 대적하느니라
5악인은 정의를 깨닫지 못하나 여호와를 찾는 자는 모든 것을 깨닫느니라
6가난하여도 성실하게 행하는 자는 부유하면서 굽게 행하는 자 보다 나으니라
7율법을 지키는 자는 지혜로운 아들이요 음식을 탐하는 자와 사귀는 자는 아비를 욕되게 하는 자니라
8중한 변리로 자기 재산을 늘이는 것은 가난한 사람을 불쌍히 여기는 자를 위해 그 재산을 저축하는 것이니라
9사람이 귀를 돌려 율법을 듣지 아니하면 그의 기도도 가증하니라
10정직한 자를 악한 길로 유인하는 자는 스스로 자기 함정에 빠져도 성실한 자는 복을 받느니라
11부자는 자기를 지혜롭게 여기나 가난해도 명철한 자는 자기를 살펴 아느니라
12의인이 득의하면 큰 영화가 있고 악인이 일어나면 사람이 숨느니라
13자기의 죄를 숨기는 자는 형통하지 못하나 죄를 자복하고 버리는 자는 불쌍히 여김을 받으리라
14항상 경외하는 자는 복되거니와 마음을 완악하게 하는 자는 재앙에 빠지리라
15가난한 백성을 압제하는 악한 관원은 부르짖는 사자와 주린 곰 같으니라
16무지한 치리자는 포학을 크게 행하거니와 탐욕을 미워하는 자는 장수하리라
17사람의 피를 흘린 자는 함정으로 달려갈 것이니 그를 막지 말지니라
18성실하게 행하는 자는 구원을 받을 것이나 굽은 길로 행하는 자는 곧 넘어지리라
19자기의 토지를 경작하는 자는 먹을 것이 많으려니와 방탕을 따르는 자는 궁핍함이 많으리라
20충성된 자는 복이 많아도 속히 부하고자 하는 자는 형벌을 면하지 못하리라
21사람의 낯을 보아주는 것이 좋지 못하고 한 조각 떡으로 말미암아 사람이 범법하는 것도 그러하니라
22악한 눈이 있는 자는 재물을 얻기에만 급하고 빈궁이 자기에게로 임할 줄은 알지 못하느니라
23사람을 경책하는 자는 혀로 아첨하는 자보다 나중에 더욱 사랑을 받느니라
24부모의 물건을 도둑질하고서도 죄가 아니라 하는 자는 멸망 받게 하는 자의 동류니라
25욕심이 많은 자는 다툼을 일으키나 여호와를 의지하는 자는 풍족하게 되느니라
26자기의 마음을 믿는 자는 미련한 자요 지혜롭게 행하는 자는 구원을 얻을 자니라
27가난한 자를 구제하는 자는 궁핍하지 아니하려니와 못 본 체하는 자에게는 저주가 크리라
28악인이 일어나면 사람이 숨고 그가 멸망하면 의인이 많아지느니라

1우리가 바벨론의 여러 강변 거기에 앉아서 시온을 기억하며 울었도다

1I will give thee thanks with my whole heart: Before the gods will I sing praises unto thee.
2I will worship toward thy holy temple, And give thanks unto thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: For thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
3In the day that I called thou answeredst me, Thou didst encourage me with strength in my soul.
4All the kings of the earth shall give thee thanks, O Jehovah, For they have heard the words of thy mouth.
5Yea, they shall sing of the ways of Jehovah; For great is the glory of Jehovah.
6For though Jehovah is high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly; But the haughty he knoweth from afar.
7Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me; Thou wilt stretch forth thy hand against the wrath of mine enemies, And thy right hand will save me.

1내가 전심으로 주께 감사하며 신들 앞에서 주께 찬송하리이다
2내가 주의 성전을 향하여 예배하며 주의 인자하심과 성실하심으로 말미암아 주의 이름에 감사하오리니 이는 주께서 주의 말씀을 주의 모든 이름보다 높게 하셨음이라
3내가 간구하는 날에 주께서 응답하시고 내 영혼에 힘을 줄어 나를 강하게 하셨나이다
4여호와여 세상의 모든 왕들이 주께 감사할 것은 그들이 주의 입의 말씀을 들음이오며

1O Jehovah, thou hast searched me, and known `me'.
2Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising; Thou understandest my thought afar off.
3Thou searchest out my path and my lying down, And art acquainted with all my ways.
4For there is not a word in my tongue, But, lo, O Jehovah, thou knowest it altogether.
5Thou hast beset me behind and before, And laid thy hand upon me.
6`Such' knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is high, I cannot attain unto it.
7Whither shall I go from thy Spirit? Or whither shall I flee from thy presence?
8If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, thou art there.
9If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
10Even there shall thy hand lead me, And thy right hand shall hold me.
11If I say, Surely the darkness shall overwhelm me, And the light about me shall be night;
12Even the darkness hideth not from thee, But the night shineth as the day: The darkness and the light are both alike `to thee'.
13For thou didst form my inward parts: Thou didst cover me in my mother's womb.
14I will give thanks unto thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: Wonderful are thy works; And that my soul knoweth right well.
15My frame was not hidden from thee, When I was made in secret, `And' curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
16Thine eyes did see mine unformed substance; And in thy book they were all written, `Even' the days that were ordained `for me', When as yet there was none of them.
17How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! How great is the sum of them!
18If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: When I awake, I am still with thee.
19Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: Depart from me therefore, ye bloodthirsty men.
20For they speak against thee wickedly, And thine enemies take `thy name' in vain.
21Do not I hate them, O Jehovah, that hate thee? And am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee?

1여호와여 주께서 나를 살펴 보셨으므로 나를 아시나이다
2주께서 내가 앉고 일어섬을 아시고 멀리서도 나의 생각을 밝히 아시오며
3나의 모든 길과 내가 눕는 것을 살펴보셨으므로 나의 모든 행위를 익히 아시오니
4여호와여 내 혀의 말을 알지 못하시는 것이 하나도 없으시니이다
5주께서 나의 앞뒤를 둘러싸시고 내게 안수하셨나이다
6이 지식이 내게 너무 기이하니 높아서 내가 능히 미치지 못하나이다
7내가 주의 영을 떠나 어디로 가며 주의 앞에서 어디로 피하리이까
8내가 하늘에 올라갈지라도 거기 계시며 스올에 내 자리를 펼지라도 거기 계시니이다
9내가 새벽 날개를 치며 바다 끝에 가서 거주할지라도
10거기서도 주의 손이 나를 인도하시며 주의 오른손이 나를 붙드시리이다
11내가 혹시 말하기를 흑암이 반드시 나를 덮고 나를 두른 빛은 밤이 되리라 할지라도
12주에게서는 흑암이 숨기지 못하며 밤이 낮과 같이 비추이나니 주에게는 흑암과 빛이 같음이니이다
13주께서 내 내장을 지으시며 나의 모태에서 나를 만드셨나이다
14내가 주께 감사하옴은 나를 지으심이 심히 기묘하심이라 주께서 하시는 일이 기이함을 내 영혼이 잘 아나이다
15내가 은밀한 데서 지음을 받고 땅의 깊은 곳에서 기이하게 지음을 받은 때에 나의 형체가 주의 앞에 숨겨지지 못하였나이다
16내 형질이 이루어지기 전에 주의 눈이 보셨으며 나를 위하여 정한 날이 하루도 되기 전에 주의 책에 다 기록이 되었나이다
17하나님이여 주의 생각이 내게 어찌 그리 보배로우신지요 그 수가 어찌 그리 많은지요
18내가 세려고 할지라도 그 수가 모래보다 많도소이다 내가 깰 때에도 여전히 주와 함께 있나이다
19하나님이여 주께서 반드시 악인을 죽이시리이다 피 흘리기를 즐기는 자들아 나를 떠날지어다
20그들이 주를 대하여 악하게 말하며 주의 원수들이 주의 이름으로 헛되이 맹세하나이다
21여호와여 내가 주를 미워하는 자들을 미워하지 아니하오며 주를 치러 일어나는 자들을 미워하지 아니하나이까
22내가 그들을 심히 미워하니 그들은 나의 원수들이니이다
23하나님이여 나를 살피사 내 마음을 아시며 나를 시험하사 내 뜻을 아옵소서
24내게 무슨 악한 행위가 있나 보시고 나를 영원한 길로 인도하소서
1Deliver me, O Jehovah, from the evil man; Preserve me from the violent man:
2Who devise mischiefs in their heart; Continually do they gather themselves together for war.
3They have sharpened their tongue like a serpent; Adders' poison is under their lips. Selah
4Keep me, O Jehovah, from the hands of the wicked; Preserve me from the violent man: Who have purposed to thrust aside my steps.
5The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; They have spread a net by the wayside; They have set gins for me. Selah
6I said unto Jehovah, Thou art my God: Give ear unto the voice of my supplications, O Jehovah.
7O Jehovah the Lord, the strength of my salvation, Thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.
8Grant not, O Jehovah, the desires of the wicked; Further not his evil device, `lest' they exalt themselves. Selah
9As for the head of those that compass me about, Let the mischief of their own lips cover them.
10Let burning coals fall upon them: Let them be cast into the fire, Into deep pits, whence they shall not rise.
11An evil speaker shall not be established in the earth: Evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him.
12I know that Jehovah will maintain the cause of the afflicted, And justice for the needy.

9나를 에워싸는 자들이 그들의 머리를 들 때에 그들의 입술의 재난이 그들을 덮게 하소서
10뜨거운 숯불이 그들 위에 떨어지게 하시며 불 가운데와 깊은 웅덩이에 그들로 하여금 빠져 다시 일어나지 못하게 하소서
11악담하는 자는 세상에서 굳게 서지 못하며 포악한 자는 재앙이 따라서 패망하게 하리이다
12내가 알거니와 여호와는 고난 당하는 자를 변호해 주시며 궁핍한 자에게 정의를 베푸시리이다
13진실로 의인들이 주의 이름에 감사하며 정직한 자들이 주의 앞에서 살리이다
