9And I looked, and behold, four wheels beside the cherubim, one wheel beside one cherub, and another wheel beside another cherub; and the appearance of the wheels was like unto a beryl stone.

10And as for their appearance, they four had one likeness, as if a wheel have been within a wheel.

11When they went, they went in their four directions: they turned not as they went, but to the place whither the head looked they followed it; they turned not as they went.

12And their whole body, and their backs, and their hands, and their wings, and the wheels, were full of eyes round about, `even' the wheels that they four had.

13As for the wheels, they were called in my hearing, the whirling `wheels'.

14And every one had four faces: the first face was the face of the cherub, and the second face was the face of a man, and the third face the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle.

15And the cherubim mounted up: this is the living creature that I saw by the river Chebar.

16And when the cherubim went, the wheels went beside them; and when the cherubim lifted up their wings to mount up from the earth, the wheels also turned not from beside them.

17When they stood, these stood; and when they mounted up, these mounted up with them: for the spirit of the living creature was in them.

18And the glory of Jehovah went forth from over the threshold of the house, and stood over the cherubim.

19And the cherubim lifted up their wings, and mounted up from the earth in my sight when they went forth, and the wheels beside them: and they stood at the door of the east gate of Jehovah's house; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them above.

20This is the living creature that I saw under the God of Israel by the river Chebar; and I knew that they were cherubim.

21Every one had four faces, and every one four wings; and the likeness of the hands of a man was under their wings.

22And as for the likeness of their faces, they were the faces which I saw by the river Chebar, their appearances and themselves; they went every one straight forward.

9내가 보니 그룹들 곁에 네 바퀴가 있는데 이 그룹 곁에도 한 바퀴가 있고 저 그룹 곁에도 한 바퀴가 있으며 그 바퀴 모양은 황옥 같으며

10그 모양은 넷이 꼭 같은데 마치 바퀴 안에 바퀴가 있는 것 같으며

11그룹들이 나아갈 때에는 사방으로 몸을 돌리지 아니하고 나아가되 몸을 돌리지 아니하고 그 머리 향한 곳으로 나아가며

12그 온 몸과 등과 손과 날개와 바퀴 곧 네 그룹의 바퀴의 둘레에 다 눈이 가득하더라

13내가 들으니 그 바퀴들을 도는 것이라 부르며

14그룹들에게는 각기 네 면이 있는데 첫째 면은 그룹의 얼굴이요 둘째 면은 사람의 얼굴이요 셋째는 사자의 얼굴이요 넷째는 독수리의 얼굴이더라

15그룹들이 올라가니 그들은 내가 그발 강가에서 보던 생물이라

16그룹들이 나아갈 때에는 바퀴도 그 곁에서 나아가고 그룹들이 날개를 들고 땅에서 올라가려 할 때에도 바퀴가 그 곁을 떠나지 아니하며

17그들이 서면 이들도 서고 그들이 올라가면 이들도 함께 올라가니 이는 생물의 영이 바퀴 가운데에 있음이더라

18여호와의 영광이 성전 문지방을 떠나서 그룹들 위에 머무르니

19그룹들이 날개를 들고 내 눈 앞의 땅에서 올라가는데 그들이 나갈 때에 바퀴도 그 곁에서 함께 하더라 그들이 여호와의 전으로 들어가는 동문에 머물고 이스라엘 하나님의 영광이 그 위에 덮였더라

20그것은 내가 그발 강가에서 보던 이스라엘의 하나님 아래에 있던 생물이라 그들이 그룹인 줄을 내가 아니라

21각기 네 얼굴과 네 날개가 있으며 날개 밑에는 사람의 손 형상이 있으니

22그 얼굴의 형상은 내가 그발 강가에서 보던 얼굴이며 그 모양과 그 몸도 그러하며 각기 곧게 앞으로 가더라

Reflection · 묵상

In a world that constantly demands more — more productivity, more achievement, more anxiety — Psalm 23 speaks a radical word of rest. The shepherd does not drive the sheep; he leads them. There is a profound difference between a God who demands and a God who guides. Today, where do you need to let the Shepherd lead you into rest?

더 많은 생산성, 더 많은 성취, 더 많은 불안을 끊임없이 요구하는 세상에서 시편 23편은 안식에 대한 근본적인 말씀을 전합니다. 목자는 양 떼를 몰지 않고 인도합니다. 요구하는 하나님과 인도하시는 하나님 사이에는 깊은 차이가 있습니다. 오늘 당신은 목자께서 어느 곳으로 인도하시기를 원하십니까?

Prayer · 기도

Lord, help me to trust you as my shepherd today. In the places where I feel lack, remind me of your abundance. In the moments of striving, call me back to rest in you. Amen.

주님, 오늘 당신을 나의 목자로 신뢰하게 도와주소서. 부족함을 느끼는 곳에서 주님의 풍성함을 기억하게 하시고, 몸부림치는 순간에 주님 안에서 쉬게 하소서. 아멘.

Proverbs 31:1–31

잠언 31장

1The words of king Lemuel; the oracle which his mother taught him.

2What, my son? and what, O son of my womb? And what, O son of my vows?

3Give not thy strength unto women, Nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.

4It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; Nor for princes `to say', Where is strong drink?

5Lest they drink, and forget the law, And pervert the justice `due' to any that is afflicted.

6Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, And wine unto the bitter in soul:

7Let him drink, and forget his poverty, And remember his misery no more.

8Open thy mouth for the dumb, In the cause of all such as are left desolate.

9Open thy mouth, judge righteously, And minister justice to the poor and needy.

10A worthy woman who can find? For her price is far above rubies.

11The heart of her husband trusteth in her, And he shall have no lack of gain.

12She doeth him good and not evil All the days of her life.

13She seeketh wool and flax, And worketh willingly with her hands.

14She is like the merchant-ships; She bringeth her bread from afar.

15She riseth also while it is yet night, And giveth food to her household, And their task to her maidens.

16She considereth a field, and buyeth it; With the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.

17She girdeth her loins with strength, And maketh strong her arms.

18She perceiveth that her merchandise is profitable: Her lamp goeth not out by night.

19She layeth her hands to the distaff, And her hands hold the spindle.

20She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; Yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.

21She is not afraid of the snow for her household; For all her household are clothed with scarlet.

22She maketh for herself carpets of tapestry; Her clothing is fine linen and purple.

23Her husband is known in the gates, When he sitteth among the elders of the land.

24She maketh linen garments and selleth them, And delivereth girdles unto the merchant.

25Strength and dignity are her clothing; And she laugheth at the time to come.

26She openeth her mouth with wisdom; And the law of kindness is on her tongue.

27She looketh well to the ways of her household, And eateth not the bread of idleness.

28Her children rise up, and call her blessed; Her husband `also', and he praiseth her, `saying':

29Many daughters have done worthily, But thou excellest them all.

30Grace is deceitful, and beauty is vain; `But' a woman that feareth Jehovah, she shall be praised.

31Give her of the fruit of her hands; And let her works praise her in the gates.

1르무엘 왕이 말씀한 바 곧 그의 어머니가 그를 훈계한 잠언이라

2내 아들아 내가 무엇을 말하랴 내 태에서 난 아들아 내가 무엇을 말하랴 서원대로 얻은 아들아 내가 무엇을 말하랴

3네 힘을 여자들에게 쓰지 말며 왕들을 멸망시키는 일을 행하지 말지어다

4르무엘아 포도주를 마시는 것이 왕들에게 마땅하지 아니하고 왕들에게 마땅하지 아니하며 독주를 찾는 것이 주권자들에게 마땅하지 않도다

5술을 마시다가 법을 잊어버리고 모든 곤고한 자들의 송사를 굽게 할까 두려우니라

6독주는 죽게 된 자에게, 포도주는 마음에 근심하는 자에게 줄지어다

7그는 마시고 자기의 빈궁한 것을 잊어버리겠고 다시 자기의 고통을 기억하지 아니하리라

8너는 말 못하는 자와 모든 고독한 자의 송사를 위하여 입을 열지니라

9너는 입을 열어 공의로 재판하여 곤고한 자와 궁핍한 자를 신원할지니라

10누가 현숙한 여인을 찾아 얻겠느냐 그의 값은 진주보다 더 하니라

11그런 자의 남편의 마음은 그를 믿나니 산업이 핍절하지 아니하겠으며

12그런 자는 살아 있는 동안에 그의 남편에게 선을 행하고 악을 행하지 아니하느니라

13그는 양털과 삼을 구하여 부지런히 손으로 일하며

14상인의 배와 같아서 먼 데서 양식을 가져오며

15밤이 새기 전에 일어나서 자기 집안 사람들에게 음식을 나누어 주며 여종들에게 일을 정하여 맡기며

16밭을 살펴 보고 사며 자기의 손으로 번 것을 가지고 포도원을 일구며

17힘 있게 허리를 묶으며 자기의 팔을 강하게 하며

18자기의 장사가 잘 되는 줄을 깨닫고 밤에 등불을 끄지 아니하며

19손으로 솜뭉치를 들고 손가락으로 가락을 잡으며

20그는 곤고한 자에게 손을 펴며 궁핍한 자를 위하여 손을 내밀며

21자기 집 사람들은 다 홍색 옷을 입었으므로 눈이 와도 그는 자기 집사람들을 위하여 염려하지 아니하며

22그는 자기를 위하여 아름다운 이불을 지으며 세마포와 자색 옷을 입으며

23그의 남편은 그 땅의 장로들과 함께 성문에 앉으며 사람들의 인정을 받으며

24그는 베로 옷을 지어 팔며 띠를 만들어 상인들에게 맡기며

25능력과 존귀로 옷을 삼고 후일을 웃으며

26입을 열어 지혜를 베풀며 그의 혀로 인애의 법을 말하며

27자기의 집안 일을 보살피고 게을리 얻은 양식을 먹지 아니하나니

28그의 자식들은 일어나 감사하며 그의 남편은 칭찬하기를

29덕행 있는 여자가 많으나 그대는 모든 여자보다 뛰어나다 하느니라

30고운 것도 거짓되고 아름다운 것도 헛되나 오직 여호와를 경외하는 여자는 칭찬을 받을 것이라

31그 손의 열매가 그에게로 돌아 갈 것이요 그 행한 일로 말미암아 성문에서 칭찬을 받으리라
