1Boast not thyself of tomorrow; For thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.

2Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; A stranger, and not thine own lips.

3A stone is heavy, and the sand weighty; But a fool's vexation is heavier than they both.

4Wrath is cruel, and anger is overwhelming; But who is able to stand before jealousy?

5Better is open rebuke Than love that is hidden.

6Faithful are the wounds of a friend; But the kisses of an enemy are profuse.

7The full soul loatheth a honeycomb; But to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.

8As a bird that wandereth from her nest, So is a man that wandereth from his place.

9Oil and perfume rejoice the heart; So doth the sweetness of a man's friend `that cometh' of hearty counsel.

10Thine own friend, and thy father's friend, forsake not; And go not to thy brother's house in the day of thy calamity: Better is a neighbor that is near than a brother far off.

11My son, be wise, and make my heart glad, That I may answer him that reproacheth me.

12A prudent man seeth the evil, `and' hideth himself; `But' the simple pass on, `and' suffer for it.

13Take his garment that is surety for a stranger; And hold him in pledge `that is surety' for a foreign woman.

14He that blesseth his friend with a loud voice, rising early in the morning, It shall be counted a curse to him.

15A continual dropping in a very rainy day And a contentious woman are alike:

16He that would restrain her restraineth the wind; And his right hand encountereth oil.

17Iron sharpeneth iron; So a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.

18Whoso keepeth the fig-tree shall eat the fruit thereof; And he that regardeth his master shall be honored.

19As in water face `answereth' to face, So the heart of man to man.

20Sheol and Abaddon are never satisfied; And the eyes of man are never satisfied.

21The refining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold; And a man is `tried' by his praise.

22Though thou shouldest bray a fool in a mortar with a pestle along with bruised grain, Yet will not his foolishness depart from him.

23Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, `And' look well to thy herds:

24For riches are not for ever: And doth the crown endure unto all generations?

25The hay is carried, and the tender grass showeth itself, And the herbs of the mountains are gathered in.

26The lambs are for thy clothing, And the goats are the price of the field;

27And `there will be' goats' milk enough for thy food, for the food of thy household, And maintenance for thy maidens.

1너는 내일 일을 자랑하지 말라 하루 동안에 무슨 일이 일어날는지 네가 알 수 없음이니라

2타인이 너를 칭찬하게 하고 네 입으로는 하지 말며 외인이 너를 칭찬하게 하고 네 입술로는 하지 말지니라

3돌은 무겁고 모래도 가볍지 아니하거니와 미련한 자의 분노는 이 둘보다 무거우니라

4분은 잔인하고 노는 창수 같거니와 투기 앞에야 누가 서리요

5면책은 숨은 사랑보다 나으니라

6친구의 아픈 책망은 충직으로 말미암는 것이나 원수의 잦은 입맞춤은 거짓에서 난 것이니라

7배부른 자는 꿀이라도 싫어하고 주린 자에게는 쓴 것이라도 다니라

8고향을 떠나 유리하는 사람은 보금자리를 떠나 떠도는 새와 같으니라

9기름과 향이 사람의 마음을 즐겁게 하나니 친구의 충성된 권고가 이와 같이 아름다우니라

10네 친구와 네 아비의 친구를 버리지 말며 네 환난 날에 형제의 집에 들어가지 말지어다 가까운 이웃이 먼 형제보다 나으니라

11내 아들아 지혜를 얻고 내 마음을 기쁘게 하라 그리하면 나를 비방하는 자에게 내가 대답할 수 있으리라

12슬기로운 자는 재앙을 보면 숨어 피하여도 어리석은 자들은 나가다가 해를 받느니라

13타인을 위하여 보증 선 자의 옷을 취하라 외인들을 위하여 보증 선 자는 그의 몸을 볼모 잡을지니라

14이른 아침에 큰 소리로 자기 이웃을 축복하면 도리어 저주 같이 여기게 되리라

15다투는 여자는 비 오는 날에 이어 떨어지는 물방울이라

16그를 제어하기가 바람을 제어하는 것 같고 오른손으로 기름을 움키는 것 같으니라

17철이 철을 날카롭게 하는 것 같이 사람이 그의 친구의 얼굴을 빛나게 하느니라

18무화과나무를 지키는 자는 그 과실을 먹고 자기 주인에게 시중드는 자는 영화를 얻느니라

19물에 비치면 얼굴이 서로 같은 것 같이 사람의 마음도 서로 비치느니라

20스올과 아바돈은 만족함이 없고 사람의 눈도 만족함이 없느니라

21도가니로 은을, 풀무로 금을, 칭찬으로 사람을 단련하느니라

22미련한 자를 곡물과 함께 절구에 넣고 공이로 찧을지라도 그의 미련은 벗겨지지 아니하느니라

23네 양 떼의 형편을 부지런히 살피며 네 소 떼에게 마음을 두라

24대저 재물은 영원히 있지 못하나니 면류관이 어찌 대대에 있으랴

25풀을 벤 후에는 새로 움이 돋나니 산에서 꼴을 거둘 것이니라

26어린 양의 털은 네 옷이 되며 염소는 밭을 사는 값이 되며

27염소의 젖은 넉넉하여 너와 네 집의 음식이 되며 네 여종의 먹을 것이 되느니라

1Jehovah, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty; Neither do I exercise myself in great matters, Or in things too wonderful for me.

2Surely I have stilled and quieted my soul; Like a weaned child with his mother, Like a weaned child is my soul within me.

1여호와여 내 마음이 교만하지 아니하고 내 눈이 오만하지 아니 하오며 내가 큰 일과 감당하지 못할 놀라운 일을 하려고 힘쓰지 아니하나이다

2실로 내가 내 영혼으로 고요하고 평온하게 하기를 젖 뗀 아이가 그의 어머니 품에 있음 같게 하였나니 내 영혼이 젖 뗀 아이와 같도다

3이스라엘아 지금부터 영원까지 여호와를 바랄지어다

1Jehovah, remember for David All his affliction;

2How he sware unto Jehovah, And vowed unto the Mighty One of Jacob:

3Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, Nor go up into my bed;

4I will not give sleep to mine eyes, Or slumber to mine eyelids;

5Until I find out a place for Jehovah, A tabernacle for the Mighty One of Jacob.

6Lo, we heard of it in Ephrathah: We found it in the field of the wood.

7We will go into his tabernacles; We will worship at his footstool.

8Arise, O Jehovah, into thy resting-place; Thou, and the ark of thy strength.

9Let thy priest be clothed with righteousness; And let thy saints shout for joy.

10For thy servant David's sake Turn not away the face of thine anointed.

11Jehovah hath sworn unto David in truth; He will not turn from it: Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne.

12If thy children will keep my covenant And my testimony that I shall teach them, Their children also shall sit upon thy throne for evermore.

13For Jehovah hath chosen Zion; He hath desired it for his habitation.

14This is my resting-place for ever: Here will I dwell; for I have desired it.

15I will abundantly bless her provision: I will satisfy her poor with bread.

16Her priests also will I clothe with salvation; And her saints shall shout aloud for joy.

17There will I make the horn of David to bud: I have ordained a lamp for mine anointed.

18His enemies will I clothe with shame; But upon himself shall his crown flourish. Psalm 133 A Song of Ascents; of David.

1여호와여 다윗을 위하여 그의 모든 겸손을 기억하소서

2그가 여호와의 맹세하며 야곱의 전능자에게 서원하기를

3내가 내 장막 집에 들어가지 아니 하며 내 침상에 오르지 아니하고

4내 눈으로 잠들게 하지 아니하며 내 눈꺼풀로 졸게 하지 아니하기를

5여호와의 처소 곧 야곱의 전능자의 성막을 발견하기까지 하리라 하였나이다

6우리가 그것이 에브라다에 있다 함을 들었더니 나무 밭에서 찾았도다

7우리가 그의 계신 곳으로 들어가서 그의 발등상 앞에서 엎드려 예배하리로다

11여호와께서 다윗에게 성실히 맹세하셨으니 변하지 아니하실지라 이르시기를 네 몸의 소생을 네 왕위에 둘지라

12네 자손이 내 언약과 그들에게 교훈하는 내 증거를 지킬진대 그들의 후손도 영원히 네 왕위에 앉으리라 하셨도다

13여호와께서 시온을 택하시고 자기 거처를 삼고자 하여 이르시기를

14이는 내가 영원히 쉴 곳이라 내가 여기 거주할 것은 이를 원하였음이로다

15내가 이 성의 식료품에 풍족히 복을 주고 떡으로 그 빈민을 만족하게 하리로다

16내가 그 제사장들에게 구원을 옷 입히리니 그 성도들은 즐거이 외치리로다

17내가 거기서 다윗에게 뿔이 나게 할 것이라 내가 내 기름 부음 받은 자를 위하여 등을 준비하였도다

18내가 그의 원수에게는 수치를 옷 입히고 그에게는 왕관이 빛나게 하리라 하셨도다

1Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity!

2It is like the precious oil upon the head, That ran down upon the beard, Even Aaron's beard; That came down upon the skirt of his garments;

3Like the dew of Hermon, That cometh down upon the mountains of Zion: For there Jehovah commanded the blessing, Even life for evermore. Psalm 134 A Song of Ascents.

1보라 형제가 연합하여 동거함이 어찌 그리 선하고 아름다운고

2머리에 있는 보배로운 기름이 수염 곧 아론의 수염에 흘러서 그의 옷깃까지 내림 같고

3헐몬의 이슬이 시온의 산들에 내림 같도다 거기서 여호와께서 복을 명령하셨나니 곧 영생이로다

1Behold, bless ye Jehovah, all ye servants of Jehovah, That by night stand in the house of Jehovah.

2Lift up your hands to the sanctuary, And bless ye Jehovah.

3Jehovah bless thee out of Zion; Even he that made heaven and earth.

1보라 밤에 여호와의 성전에 서 있는 여호와의 모든 종들아 여호와를 송축하라

2성소를 향하여 너희 손을 들고 여호와를 송축하라

3천지를 지으신 여호와께서 시온에서 네게 복을 주실지어다

1Praise ye Jehovah. Praise ye the name of Jehovah; Praise `him', O ye servants of Jehovah,

2Ye that stand in the house of Jehovah, In the courts of the house of our God.

3Praise ye Jehovah; for Jehovah is good: Sing praises unto his name; for it is pleasant.

4For Jehovah hath chosen Jacob unto himself, `And' Israel for his own possession.

5For I know that Jehovah is great, And that our Lord is above all gods.

6Whatsoever Jehovah pleased, that hath he done, In heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deeps;

7Who causeth the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; Who maketh lightnings for the rain; Who bringeth forth the wind out of his treasuries;

8Who smote the first-born of Egypt, Both of man and beast;

9Who sent signs and wonders into the midst of thee, O Egypt, Upon Pharaoh, and upon all his servants;

10Who smote many nations, And slew mighty kings,

11Sihon king of the Amorites, And Og king of Bashan, And all the kingdoms of Canaan,

12And gave their land for a heritage, A heritage unto Israel his people.

13Thy name, O Jehovah, `endureth' for ever; Thy memorial `name', O Jehovah, throughout all generations.

14For Jehovah will judge his people, And repent himself concerning his servants.

15The idols of the nations are silver and gold, The work of men's hands.

16They have mouths, but they speak not; Eyes have they, but they see not;

17They have ears, but they hear not; Neither is there any breath in their mouths.

18They that make them shall be like unto them; Yea, every one that trusteth in them.

19O house of Israel, bless ye Jehovah: O house of Aaron, bless ye Jehovah:

20O house of Levi, bless ye Jehovah: Ye that fear Jehovah, bless ye Jehovah.

21Blessed be Jehovah out of Zion, Who dwelleth at Jerusalem. Praise ye Jehovah.

1할렐루야 여호와의 이름을 찬송하라 여호와의 종들아 찬송하라

2여호와의 집 우리 여호와의 성전 곧 우리 하나님의 성전 뜰에서 있는 너희여

3여호와를 찬송하라 여호와는 선하시며 그의 이름이 아름다우니 그의 이름을 찬양하라

4여호와께서 자기를 위하여 야곱 곧 이스라엘을 자기의 특별한 소유로 택하셨음이로다

5내가 알거니와 여호와께서는 위대하시며 우리 주는 모든 신들 보다 위대하시도다

6여호와께서 그가 기뻐하시는 모든 일을 천지와 바다와 모든 깊은 데서 다 행하셨도다

7안개를 땅 끝에서 일으키시며 비를 위하여 번개를 만드시며 바람을 그 곳간에서 내시는도다

8그가 애굽의 처음 난 자를 사람부터 짐승까지 치셨도다

9애굽이여 여호와께서 네게 행한 표적들과 징조들을 바로와 그의 모든 신하들에게 보내셨도다

10그가 많은 나라를 치시고 강한 왕들을 죽이셨나니

11곧 아모리인의 왕 시혼과 바산 왕 옥과 가나안의 모든 국왕이로다

12그들의 땅을 기업으로 주시되 자기 백성 이스라엘에게 기업으로 주셨도다

13여호와여 주의 이름이 영원하시니이다 여호와여 주를 기념함이 대대에 이르리이다

14여호와께서 자기 백성을 판단하시며 그의 종들로 말미암아 위로를 받으시리로다

15결국의 우상은 은 금이요 사람의 손으로 만든 것이라

16입이 있어도 말하지 못하며 눈이 있어도 보지 못하며

17귀가 있어도 듣지 못하며 그들의 입에는 아무 호흡도 없나니

18그것을 만든 자와 그것을 의지하는 자가 다 그것과 같으리로다

19이스라엘 족속아 여호와를 송축하라 아론의 족속아 여호와를 송축하라

20레위 족속아 여호와를 송축하라 여호와를 경외하는 너희들아 여호와를 송축하라

21예루살렘에 계시는 여호와는 시온에서 찬송을 받으실지어다 할렐루야
