1When thou sittest to eat with a ruler, Consider diligently him that is before thee;

2And put a knife to thy throat, If thou be a man given to appetite.

3Be not desirous of his dainties; Seeing they are deceitful food.

4Weary not thyself to be rich; Cease from thine own wisdom.

5Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? For `riches' certainly make themselves wings, Like an eagle that flieth toward heaven.

6Eat thou not the bread of him that hath an evil eye, Neither desire thou his dainties:

7For as he thinketh within himself, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; But his heart is not with thee.

8The morsel which thou hast eaten shalt thou vomit up, And lose thy sweet words.

9Speak not in the hearing of a fool; For he will despise the wisdom of thy words.

10Remove not the ancient landmark; And enter not into the fields of the fatherless:

11For their Redeemer is strong; He will plead their cause against thee.

12Apply thy heart unto instruction, And thine ears to the words of knowledge.

13Withhold not correction from the child; `For' if thou beat him with the rod, he will not die.

14Thou shalt beat him with the rod, And shalt deliver his soul from Sheol.

15My son, if thy heart be wise, My heart will be glad, even mine:

16Yea, my heart will rejoice, When thy lips speak right things.

17Let not thy heart envy sinners; But `be thou' in the fear of Jehovah all the day long:

18For surely there is a reward; And thy hope shall not be cut off.

19Hear thou, my son, and be wise, And guide thy heart in the way.

20Be not among winebibbers, Among gluttonous eaters of flesh:

21For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty; And drowsiness will clothe `a man' with rags.

22Hearken unto thy father that begat thee, And despise not thy mother when she is old.

23Buy the truth, and sell it not; `Yea', wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.

24The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice; And he that begetteth a wise child will have joy of him.

25Let thy father and thy mother be glad, And let her that bare thee rejoice.

26My son, give me thy heart; And let thine eyes delight in my ways.

27For a harlot is a deep ditch; And a foreign woman is a narrow pit.

28Yea, she lieth in wait as a robber, And increaseth the treacherous among men.

29Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? Who hath complaining? who hath wounds without cause? Who hath redness of eyes?

30They that tarry long at the wine; They that go to seek out mixed wine.

31Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, When it sparkleth in the cup, When it goeth down smoothly:

32At the last it biteth like a serpent, And stingeth like an adder.

33Thine eyes shall behold strange things, And thy heart shall utter perverse things.

34Yea, thou shalt be as he that lieth down in the midst of the sea, Or as he that lieth upon the top of a mast.

35They have stricken me, `shalt thou say', and I was not hurt; They have beaten me, and I felt it not: When shall I awake? I will seek it yet again.

1네가 관원과 함께 앉아 음식을 먹게 되거든 삼가 네 앞에 있는 자가 누구인지를 생각하며

2네가 만일 음식을 탐하는 자이거든 네 목에 칼을 둘 것이니라

3그의 맛있는 음식을 탐하지 말라 그것은 속이는 음식이니라

4부자 되기에 애쓰지 말고 네 사사로운 지혜를 버릴지어다

5네가 어찌 허무한 것에 주목하겠느냐 정녕히 재물은 스스로 날개를 내어 하늘을 나는 독수리처럼 날아가리라

6악한 눈이 있는 자의 음식을 먹지 말며 그의 맛있는 음식을 탐하지 말지어다

7대저 그 마음의 생각이 어떠하면 그 위인도 그러한즉 그가 네게 먹고 마시라 할지라도 그의 마음은 너와 함께 하지 아니함이라

8네가 조금 먹은 것도 토하겠고 네 아름다운 말도 헛된 데로 돌아가리라

9미련한 자의 귀에 말하지 말지니 이는 그가 네 지혜로운 말을 업신여길 것임이니라

10옛 지계석을 옮기지 말며 고아들의 밭을 침범하지 말지어다

11대저 그들의 구속자는 강하시니 그가 너를 대적하여 그들의 원한을 풀어 주시리라

12훈계에 착심하며 지식의 말씀에 귀를 기울이라

13아이를 훈계하지 아니하려고 하지 말라 채찍으로 그를 때릴지라도 그가 죽지 아니하리라

14네가 그를 채찍으로 때리면 그의 영혼을 스올에서 구원하리라

15내 아들아 만일 네 마음이 지혜로우면 나 곧 내 마음이 즐겁겠고

16만일 네 입술이 정직을 말하면 내 속이 유쾌하리라

17네 마음으로 죄인의 형통을 부러워하지 말고 항상 여호와를 경외하라

18정녕히 네 장래가 있겠고 네 소망이 끊어지지 아니하리라

19내 아들아 너는 듣고 지혜를 얻어 네 마음을 바른 길로 인도할지니라

20술을 즐겨 하는 자들과 고기를 탐하는 자들과도 더불어 사귀지 말라

21술 취하고 음식을 탐하는 자는 가난하여질 것이요 잠 자기를 즐겨 하는 자는 해어진 옷을 입을 것임이니라

22너를 낳은 아비에게 청종하고 네 늙은 어미를 경히 여기지 말지니라

23진리를 사되 팔지는 말며 지혜와 훈계와 명철도 그리할지니라

24의인의 아비는 크게 즐거울 것이요 지혜로운 자식을 낳은 자는 그로 말미암아 즐거울 것이니라

25네 부모를 즐겁게 하며 너를 낳은 어미를 기쁘게 하라

26내 아들아 네 마음을 내게 주며 네 눈으로 내 길을 즐거워할지어다

27대저 음녀는 깊은 구덩이요 이방 여인은 좁은 함정이라

28참으로 그는 강도 같이 매복하며 사람들 중에 사악한 자가 많아지게 하느니라

29재앙이 뉘게 있느뇨 근심이 뉘게 있느뇨 분쟁이 뉘게 있느뇨 원망이 뉘게 있느뇨 까닭 없는 상처가 뉘게 있느뇨 붉은 눈이 뉘게 있느뇨

30술에 잠긴 자에게 있고 혼합한 술을 구하러 다니는 자에게 있느니라

31포도주는 붉고 잔에서 번쩍이며 순하게 내려가나니 너는 그것을 보지도 말지어다

32그것이 마침내 뱀 같이 물 것이요 독사 같이 쏠 것이며

33또 네 눈에는 괴이한 것이 보일 것이요 네 마음은 구부러진 말을 할 것이며

34너는 바다 가운데에 누운 자 같을 것이요 돛대 위에 누운 자 같을 것이며

35네가 스스로 말하기를 사람이 나를 때려도 나는 아프지 아니하고 나를 상하게 하여도 내게 감각이 없도다 내가 언제나 깰까 다시 술을 찾겠다 하리라

1Praise ye Jehovah. I will give thanks unto Jehovah with my whole heart, In the council of the upright, and in the congregation.

2The works of Jehovah are great, Sought out of all them that have pleasure therein.

3His work is honor and majesty; And his righteousness endureth for ever.

4He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: Jehovah is gracious and merciful.

5He hath given food unto them that fear him: He will ever be mindful of his covenant.

6He hath showed his people the power of his works, In giving them the heritage of the nations.

7The works of his hands are truth and justice; All his precepts are sure.

8They are established for ever and ever; They are done in truth and uprightness.

9He hath sent redemption unto his people; He hath commanded his covenant for ever: Holy and reverend is his name.

10The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all they that do `his commandments': His praise endureth for ever.

1할렐루야, 내가 정직한 자들의 모임과 회중 가운데에서 전심으로 여호와께 감사하리로다

2여호와께서 행하시는 일들이 크시오니 이를 즐거워하는 자들이 다 기리는도다

3그의 행하시는 일이 존귀하고 엄위하며 그의 의가 영원히 서 있도다

4그의 기적을 사람이 기억하게 하셨으니 여호와는 은혜로우시고 자비로우시도다

5여호와께서 자기를 경외하는 자들에게 양식을 주시며 그의 언약을 영원히 기억하시리로다

6그가 그들에게 뭇 나라의 기업을 주사 그가 행하시는 일의 능력을 그들에게 알리셨도다

7그의 손이 하는 일은 진실과 정의이며 그의 법도는 다 확실하니

8영원무궁토록 정하신 바요 진실과 정의로 행하신 바로다

9여호와께서 그의 백성을 속량하시며 그의 언약을 영원히 세우셨으니 그의 이름이 거룩하고 지존하시도다

10여호와를 경외함이 지혜의 근본이라 그의 계명을 지키는 자는 다 훌륭한 지각을 가진 자이니 여호와를 찬양함이 영원히 계속되리로다

1Praise ye Jehovah. Blessed is the man that feareth Jehovah, That delighteth greatly in his commandments.

2His seed shall be mighty upon earth: The generation of the upright shall be blessed.

3Wealth and riches are in his house; And his righteousness endureth for ever.

4Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: `He is' gracious, and merciful, and righteous.

5Well is it with the man that dealeth graciously and lendeth; He shall maintain his cause in judgment.

6For he shall never be moved; The righteous shall be had in everlasting remembrance.

7He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: His heart is fixed, trusting in Jehovah.

8His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, Until he see `his desire' upon his adversaries.

9He hath dispersed, he hath given to the needy; His righteousness endureth for ever: His horn shall be exalted with honor.

10The wicked shall see it, and be grieved; He shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: The desire of the wicked shall perish.

1할렐루야, 여호와를 경외하며 그의 계명을 크게 즐거워하는 자는 복이 있도다

2그의 후손이 땅에서 강성함이여 정직한 자들의 후손에게 복이 있으리로다

3부와 재물이 그의 집에 있음이여 그의 공의가 영구히 서 있으리로다

4정직한 자들에게는 흑암 중에 빛이 일어나나니 그는 자비롭고 긍휼이 많으며 의로운 이로다

5은혜를 베풀며 꾸어 주는 자는 잘 되나니 그 일을 정의로 행하리로다

6그는 영원히 흔들리지 아니함이여 의인은 영원히 기억되리로다

7그는 흉한 소문을 두려워하지 아니함이여 여호와를 의뢰하고 그의 마음을 굳게 정하였도다

8그의 마음이 견고하여 두려워하지 아니할 것이라 그의 대적들이 받는 보응을 마침내 보리로다

9그가 재물을 흩어 빈궁한 자들에게 주었으니 그의 의가 영구히 있고 그의 뿔이 영광 중에 들리리로다

10악인은 이를 보고 한탄하여 이를 갈면서 소멸되리니 악인들의 욕망은 사라지리로다

1Praise ye Jehovah. Praise, O ye servants of Jehovah, Praise the name of Jehovah.

2Blessed be the name of Jehovah From this time forth and for evermore.

3From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same Jehovah's name is to be praised.

4Jehovah is high above all nations, And his glory above the heavens.

5Who is like unto Jehovah our God, That hath his seat on high,

6That humbleth himself to behold `The things that are' in heaven and in the earth?

7He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, And lifteth up the needy from the dunghill;

8That he may set him with princes, Even with the princes of his people.

9He maketh the barren woman to keep house, `And to be' a joyful mother of children. Praise ye Jehovah.

1할렐루야, 여호와의 종들아 찬양하라 여호와의 이름을 찬양하라

2이제부터 영원까지 여호와의 이름을 찬송할지로다

3해 돋는 데에서부터 해 지는 데에까지 여호와의 이름이 찬양을 받으시리로다

4여호와는 모든 나라보다 높으시며 그의 영광은 하늘보다 높으시도다

5여호와 우리 하나님과 같은 이가 누구리요 높은 곳에 앉으셨으나

6스스로 낮추사 천지를 살피시고

7가난한 자를 먼지 더미에서 일으키시며 궁핍한 자를 거름 더미에서 들어 세워

8지도자들 곧 그의 백성의 지도자들과 함께 세우시며

9또 임신하지 못하던 여자를 집에 살게 하사 자녀들을 즐겁게 하는 어머니가 되게 하시는도다 할렐루야

1When Israel went forth out of Egypt, The house of Jacob from a people of strange language;

2Judah became his sanctuary, Israel his dominion.

3The sea saw it, and fled; The Jordan was driven back.

4The mountains skipped like rams, The little hills like lambs.

5What aileth thee, O thou sea, that thou fleest? Thou Jordan, that thou turnest back?

6Ye mountains, that ye skip like rams; Ye little hills, like lambs?

7Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, At the presence of the God of Jacob,

8Who turned the rock into a pool of water, The flint into a fountain of waters.

1이스라엘이 애굽에서 나오며 야곱의 집안이 언어가 다른 민족에게서 나올 때에

2유다는 여호와의 성소가 되고 이스라엘은 그의 영토가 되었도다

3바다가 보고 도망하며 요단은 물러갔으니

4산들은 숫양들 같이 뛰놀며 작은 산들은 어린 양들 같이 뛰었도다

5바다야 네가 도망함은 어찌함이며 요단아 네가 물러감은 어찌함인가

6너희 산들아 숫양들 같이 뛰놀며 작은 산들아 어린 양들 같이 뛰놂은 어찌함인가

7땅이여 너는 주 앞 곧 야곱의 하나님 앞에서 떨지어다

8그가 반석을 쳐서 못물이 되게 하시며 차돌로 샘물이 되게 하셨도다

1Not unto us, O Jehovah, not unto us, But unto thy name give glory, For thy lovingkindness, and for thy truth's sake.

2Wherefore should the nations say, Where is now their God?

3But our God is in the heavens: He hath done whatsoever he pleased.

4Their idols are silver and gold, The work of men's hands.

5They have mouths, but they speak not; Eyes have they, but they see not;

6They have ears, but they hear not; Noses have they, but they smell not;

7They have hands, but they handle not; Feet have they, but they walk not; Neither speak they through their throat.

8They that make them shall be like unto them; Yea, every one that trusteth in them.

9O Israel, trust thou in Jehovah: He is their help and their shield.

10O house of Aaron, trust ye in Jehovah: He is their help and their shield.

11Ye that fear Jehovah, trust in Jehovah: He is their help and their shield.

12Jehovah hath been mindful of us; he will bless `us': He will bless the house of Israel; He will bless the house of Aaron.

13He will bless them that fear Jehovah, Both small and great.

14Jehovah increase you more and more, You and your children.

15Blessed are ye of Jehovah, Who made heaven and earth.

16The heavens are the heavens of Jehovah; But the earth hath he given to the children of men.

17The dead praise not Jehovah, Neither any that go down into silence;

18But we will bless Jehovah From this time forth and for evermore. Praise ye Jehovah.

1여호와여 영광을 우리에게 돌리지 마옵소서 우리에게 돌리지 마옵소서 오직 주는 인자하시고 진실하시므로 주의 이름에만 영광을 돌리소서

2어찌하여 뭇 나라가 그들의 하나님이 이제 어디 있느냐 말하게 하리이까

3오직 우리 하나님은 하늘에 계셔서 원하시는 모든 것을 행하셨나이다

4그들의 우상들은 은과 금이요 사람이 손으로 만든 것이라

5입이 있어도 말하지 못하며 눈이 있어도 보지 못하며

6귀가 있어도 듣지 못하며 코가 있어도 냄새 맡지 못하며

7손이 있어도 만지지 못하며 발이 있어도 걷지 못하며 목구멍이 있어도 작은 소리조차 내지 못하느니라

8우상들을 만드는 자들과 그것을 의지하는 자들이 다 그와 같으리로다

9이스라엘아 여호와를 의지하라 그는 너희의 도움이시요 너희의 방패시로다

10아론의 집이여 여호와를 의지하라 그는 너희의 도움이시요 너희의 방패시로다

11여호와를 경외하는 자들아 너희는 여호와를 의지하여라 그는 너희의 도움이시요 너희의 방패시로다

12여호와께서 우리를 생각하사 복을 주시되 이스라엘 집에도 복을 주시고 아론의 집에도 복을 주시며

13높은 사람이나 낮은 사람을 막론하고 여호와를 경외하는 자들에게 복을 주시리로다

14여호와께서 너희를 곧 너희와 너희의 자손을 더욱 번창하게 하시기를 원하노라

15너희는 천지를 지으신 여호와께 복을 받는 자로다

16하늘은 여호와의 하늘이라도 땅은 사람에게 주셨도다

17죽은 자들은 여호와를 찬양하지 못하나니 적막한 데로 내려가는 자들은 아무도 찬양하지 못하리로다

18우리는 이제부터 영원까지 여호와를 송축하리로다 할렐루야
