17Then brought he me into the outer court; and, lo, there were chambers and a pavement, made for the court round about: thirty chambers were upon the pavement.
18And the pavement was by the side of the gates, answerable unto the length of the gates, even the lower pavement.
19Then he measured the breadth from the forefront of the lower gate unto the forefront of the inner court without, a hundred cubits, `both' on the east and on the north.
20And the gate of the outer court whose prospect is toward the north, he measured the length thereof and the breadth thereof.
21And the lodges thereof were three on this side and three on that side; and the posts thereof and the arches thereof were after the measure of the first gate: the length thereof was fifty cubits, and the breadth five and twenty cubits.
22And the windows thereof, and the arches thereof, and the palm-trees thereof, were after the measure of the gate whose prospect is toward the east; and they went up unto it by seven steps; and the arches thereof were before them.
23And there was a gate to the inner court over against the `other' gate, `both' on the north and on the east; and he measured from gate to gate a hundred cubits.
24And he led me toward the south; and, behold, a gate toward the south: and he measured the posts thereof and the arches thereof according to these measures.
25And there were windows in it and in the arches thereof round about, like those windows: the length was fifty cubits, and the breadth five and twenty cubits.
26And there were seven steps to go up to it, and the arches thereof were before them; and it had palm-trees, one on this side, and another on that side, upon the posts thereof.
27And there was a gate to the inner court toward the south: and he measured from gate to gate toward the south a hundred cubits.
28Then he brought me to the inner court by the south gate: and he measured the south gate according to these measures;
29and the lodges thereof, and the posts thereof, and the arches thereof, according to these measures: and there were windows in it and in the arches thereof round about; it was fifty cubits long, and five and twenty cubits broad.
30And there were arches round about, five and twenty cubits long, and five cubits broad.
31And the arches thereof were toward the outer court; and palm-trees were upon the posts thereof: and the ascent to it had eight steps.

35And he brought me to the north gate: and he measured `it' according to these measures;
36the lodges thereof, the posts thereof, and the arches thereof: and there were windows therein round about; the length was fifty cubits, and the breadth five and twenty cubits.
37And the posts thereof were toward the outer court; and palm-trees were upon the posts thereof, on this side, and on that side: and the ascent to it had eight steps.
38And a chamber with the door thereof was by the posts at the gates; there they washed the burnt-offering.
39And in the porch of the gate were two tables on this side, and two tables on that side, to slay thereon the burnt-offering and the sin-offering and the trespass-offering.
40And on the `one' side without, as one goeth up to the entry of the gate toward the north, were two tables; and on the other side, which belonged to the porch of the gate, were two tables.
41Four tables were on this side, and four tables on that side, by the side of the gate; eight tables, whereupon they slew `the sacrifices'.
42And there were four tables for the burnt-offering, of hewn stone, a cubit and a half long, and a cubit and a half broad, and one cubit high; whereupon they laid the instruments wherewith they slew the burnt-offering and the sacrifice.
43And the hooks, a handbreadth long, were fastened within round about: and upon the tables was the flesh of the oblation.
44And without the inner gate were chambers for the singers in the inner court, which was at the side of the north gate; and their prospect was toward the south; one at the side of the east gate having the prospect toward the north.
45And he said unto me, This chamber, whose prospect is toward the south, is for the priests, the keepers of the charge of the house;
46and the chamber whose prospect is toward the north is for the priests, the keepers of the charge of the altar: these are the sons of Zadok, who from among the sons of Levi come near to Jehovah to minister unto him.
47And he measured the court, a hundred cubits long, and a hundred cubits broad, foursquare; and the altar was before the house.
48Then he brought me to the porch of the house, and measured each post of the porch, five cubits on this side, and five cubits on that side: and the breadth of the gate was three cubits on this side, and three cubits on that side.
49The length of the porch was twenty cubits, and the breadth eleven cubits; even by the steps whereby they went up to it: and there were pillars by the posts, one on this side, and another on that side.
17그가 나를 데리고 바깥뜰에 들어가니 뜰 삼면에 박석 깔린 땅이 있고 그 박석 깔린 땅 위에 여러 방이 있는데 모두 서른이며
18그 박석 깔린 땅의 위치는 각 문간의 좌우편인데 그 너비가 문간 길이와 같으니 이는 아래 박석 땅이며
19그가 아래 문간 앞에서부터 안 뜰 바깥 문간 앞까지 측량하니 그 너비가 백 척이며 동쪽과 북쪽이 같더라
20그가 바깥뜰 북쪽을 향한 문간의 길이와 너비를 측량하니
21길이는 쉰 척이요 너비는 스물 다섯 척이며 문지기 방이 이쪽에도 셋이요 저쪽에도 셋이요 그 벽과 그 현관도 먼저 측량한 문간과 같으며
22그 창과 현관의 길이와 너비와 종려나무가 다 동쪽을 향한 문간과 같으며 그 문간으로 올라가는 일곱 층계가 있고 그 안에 현관이 있으며
23안뜰에도 북쪽 문간과 동쪽 문간과 마주 대한 문간들이 있는데 그가 이 문간에서 맞은쪽 문간까지 측량하니 백 척이더라
24그가 또 나를 이끌고 남으로 간즉 남쪽을 향한 문간이 있는데 그 벽과 현관을 측량하니 먼저 측량한 것과 같고
25그 문간과 현관 좌우에 있는 창도 먼저 말한 창과 같더라 그 문간의 길이는 쉰 척이요 너비는 스물다섯 척이며
26또 그리로 올라가는 일곱 층계가 있고 그 안에 현관이 있으며 또 이쪽 저쪽 문 벽 위에 종려나무를 새겼으며
27안뜰에도 남쪽을 향한 문간이 있는데 그가 남쪽을 향한 그 문간에서 맞은쪽 문간까지 측량하니 백 척이더라
28그가 나를 데리고 그 남문을 통하여 안뜰에 들어가서 그 남문의 너비를 측량하니 크기는
29길이가 쉰 척이요 너비가 스물 다섯 척이며 그 문지기 방과 벽과 현관도 먼저 측량한 것과 같고 그 문간과 그 현관 좌우에도 창이 있으며
30그 사방 현관의 길이는 스물 다섯 척이요 너비는 다섯 척이며
31현관이 바깥뜰로 향하였고 그 문 벽 위에도 종려나무를 새겼으며 그 문간으로 올라가는 여덟 층계가 있더라
32그가 나를 데리고 안뜰 동쪽으로 가서 그 문간을 측량하니 크기는
33길이가 쉰 척이요 너비가 스물 다섯 척이며 그 문지기 방과 벽과 현관이 먼저 측량한 것과 같고 그 문간과 그 현관 좌우에도 창이 있으며
34그 현관이 바깥뜰로 향하였고 그 이쪽, 저쪽 문 벽 위에도 종려나무를 새겼으며 그 문간으로 올라가는 여덟 층계가 있더라
35그가 또 나를 데리고 북문에 이르러 측량하니 크기는
36길이가 쉰 척이요 너비가 스물 다섯 척이며 그 문지기 방과 벽과 현관이 다 그러하여 그 좌우에도 창이 있으며
37그 현관이 바깥뜰로 향하였고 그 이쪽, 저쪽 문 벽 위에도 종려나무를 새겼으며 그 문간으로 올라가는 여덟 층계가 있더라
38그 문 벽 곁에 문이 있는 방이 있는데 그것은 번제물을 씻는 방이며
39그 문의 현관 이쪽에 상 둘이 있고 저쪽에 상 둘이 있으니 그 위에서 번제와 속죄제와 속건제의 희생제물을 잡게 한 것이며
40그 북문 바깥 곧 입구로 올라가는 곳 이쪽에 상 둘이 있고 문의 현관 저쪽에 상 둘이 있으니
41문 곁 이쪽에 상이 넷이 있고 저 쪽에 상이 넷이 있어 상이 모두 여덟 개라 그 위에서 희생제물을 잡았더라
42또 다듬은 돌로 만들어 번제에 쓰는 상 넷이 있는데 그 길이는 한 척 반이요 너비는 한 척 반이요 높이는 한 척이라 번제의 희생제물을 잡을 때에 쓰는 기구가 그 위에 놓였으며
43현관 안에는 길이가 손바닥 넓이 만한 갈고리가 사방에 박혔으며 상들에는 희생제물의 고기가 있더라
44안문 밖에 있는 안뜰에는 노래하는 자의 방 둘이 있는데 북문 곁에 있는 방은 남쪽으로 향하였고 남문 곁에 있는 방은 북쪽으로 향하였더라
45그가 내게 이르되 남쪽을 향한 이 방은 성전을 지키는 제사장들이 쓸 것이요
46북쪽을 향한 방은 제단을 지키는 제사장들이 쓸 것이라 이들은 레위의 후손 중 사독의 자손으로서 여호와께 가까이 나아가 수종드는 자니라 하고
47그가 또 그 뜰을 측량하니 길이는 백 척이요 너비는 백 척이라 네모 반듯하며 제단은 성전 앞에 있더라
48그가 나를 데리고 성전 문 현관에 이르러 그 문의 좌우 벽을 측량하니 너비는 이쪽도 다섯 척이요 저쪽도 다섯 척이며 두께는 문 이쪽도 세 척이요 문 저쪽도 세 척이며
49그 현관의 너비는 스무 척이요 길이는 열한 척이며 문간으로 올라가는 층계가 있고 문 벽 곁에는 기둥이 있는데 하나는 이쪽에 있고 다른 하나는 저쪽에 있더라
Lord, strip away the pride that seeks recognition and applause. Teach me not to measure myself by worldly standards of success or strength. Remind me that apart from You I have nothing to boast about. Let my confidence rest not in my abilities, but in Christ alone — Your wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption. Make my life point not to myself, but to You.
주님, 인정과 칭찬을 받고자 하는 교만을 제 안에서 벗겨 주옵소서. 세상의 성공과 힘의 기준으로 저 자신을 판단하지 않도록 가르쳐 주소서. 주님 없이 저는 아무것도 자랑할 것이 없음을 늘 기억하게 하소서. 제 능력이 아니라, 하나님의 지혜와 의로움과 거룩함과 구속이 되시는 오직 그리스도 안에 제 확신을 두게 하소서. 제 삶이 저 자신이 아니라 오직 주님을 가리키게 하옵소서.
Prayer · 기도
God, I reflect on what it is that I am truly boasting about. Please forgive the vain desires and foolishness in me that seek to glorify my flesh. Before You, who choose the weak to shame the strong, grant me a humble heart. Help me to live boasting only in Christ, who is the wisdom and power of God.
하나님, 저는 과연 무엇을 자랑하고 있는지 돌아봅니다. 제 육체를 뽐내려는 헛된 욕심과 어리석음을 용서해 주소서. 약한 자를 택하셔서 강한 자를 부끄럽게 하시는 하나님 앞에서 겸손한 마음을 갖게 하시고, 하나님의 지혜와 능력인 그리스도만 자랑하며 살아가게 하소서.

잠언 16장
1The plans of the heart belong to man; But the answer of the tongue is from Jehovah.
2All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; But Jehovah weigheth the spirits.
3Commit thy works unto Jehovah, And thy purposes shall be established.
4Jehovah hath made everything for its own end; Yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.
5Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to Jehovah: `Though' hand `join' in hand, he shall not be unpunished.
6By mercy and truth iniquity is atoned for; And by the fear of Jehovah men depart from evil.
7When a man's ways please Jehovah, He maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.
8Better is a little, with righteousness, Than great revenues with injustice.
9A man's heart deviseth his way; But Jehovah directeth his steps.
10A divine sentence is in the lips of the king; His mouth shall not transgress in judgment.
11A just balance and scales are Jehovah's; All the weights of the bag are his work.
12It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness; For the throne is established by righteousness.
13Righteous lips are the delight of kings; And they love him that speaketh right.
14The wrath of a king is `as' messengers of death; But a wise man will pacify it.
15In the light of the king's countenance is life; And his favor is as a cloud of the latter rain.
16How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! Yea, to get understanding is rather to be chosen than silver.
17The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: He that keepeth his way preserveth his soul.
18Pride `goeth' before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall.
19Better it is to be of a lowly spirit with the poor, Than to divide the spoil with the proud.
20He that giveth heed unto the word shall find good; And whoso trusteth in Jehovah, happy is he.
21The wise in heart shall be called prudent; And the sweetness of the lips increaseth learning.
22Understanding is a well-spring of life unto him that hath it; But the correction of fools is `their' folly.
23The heart of the wise instructeth his mouth, And addeth learning to his lips.
24Pleasant words are `as' a honeycomb, Sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.
25There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, But the end thereof are the ways of death.
26The appetite of the laboring man laboreth for him; For his mouth urgeth him `thereto'.
27A worthless man deviseth mischief; And in his lips there is as a scorching fire.
28A perverse man scattereth abroad strife; And a whisperer separateth chief friends.
29A man of violence enticeth his neighbor, And leadeth him in a way that is not good.
30He that shutteth his eyes, `it is' to devise perverse things: He that compresseth his lips bringeth evil to pass.
31The hoary head is a crown of glory; It shall be found in the way of righteousness.
32He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; And he that ruleth his spirit, than he that taketh a city.
33The lot is cast into the lap; But the whole disposing thereof is of Jehovah.
1마음의 경영은 사람에게 있어도 말의 응답은 여호와께로부터 나오느니라
2사람의 행위가 자기 보기에는 모두 깨끗하여도 여호와는 심령을 감찰하시느니라
3너의 행사를 여호와께 맡기라 그리하면 네가 경영하는 것이 이루어지리라
4여호와께서 온갖 것을 그 쓰임에 적당하게 지으셨나니 악인도 악한 날에 적당하게 하셨느니라
5무룻 마음이 교만한 자를 여호와께서 미워하시나니 피차 손을 잡을지라도 벌을 면하지 못하리라
6인자와 진리로 인하여 죄악이 속하게 되고 여호와를 경외함으로 말미암아 악에서 떠나게 되느니라
7사람의 행위가 여호와를 기쁘시게 하면 그 사람의 원수라도 그와 더불어 화목하게 하시느니라
8적은 소득이 공의를 겸하면 많은 소득이 불의를 겸한 것보다 나으니라
9사람이 마음으로 자기의 길을 계획할지라도 그의 걸음을 인도하시는 이는 여호와시니라
10하나님의 말씀이 왕의 입술에 있은즉 재판할 때에 그의 입이 그르치지 아니하리라
11공평한 저울과 접시 저울은 여호와의 것이요 주머니 속의 저울 추도 다 그가 지으신 것이니라
12악을 행하는 것은 왕들이 미워할 바니 이는 그 보좌가 공의로 말미암아 굳게 섬이니라
13의로운 입술은 왕들이 기뻐하는 것이요 정직하게 말하는 자는 그들의 사랑을 입느리라
14왕의 진노는 죽음의 사자들과 같아도 지혜로운 사람은 그것을 쉬게 하리라
15왕의 희색은 생명을 뜻하나니 그의 은택이 늦은 비를 내리는 구름과 같으니라
16지혜를 얻는 것이 금을 얻는 것보다 얼마나 나은고 명철을 얻는 것이 은을 얻는 것보다 더욱 나으니라
17악을 떠나는 것은 정직한 사람의 대로이니 자기의 길을 지키는 자는 자기의 영혼을 보전하느니라
18교만은 패망의 선봉이요 거만한 마음은 넘어짐의 앞잡이니라
19겸손한 자와 함께 하여 마음을 낮추는 것이 교만한 자와 함께 하여 탈취물을 나누는 것보다 나으니라
20삼가 말씀에 주의하는 자는 좋은 것을 얻나니 여호와를 의지하는 자는 복이 있느니라
21마음이 지혜로운 자는 명철하다 일컬음을 받고 입이 선한 자는 남의 학식을 더하게 하느니라
22명철한 자에게는 그 명철이 생명의 샘이 되거니와 미련한 자에게는 그 미련한 것이 징계가 되느니라
23지혜로운 자의 마음은 그의 입을 슬기롭게 하고 또 그의 입술에 지식을 더하느니라
24선한 말은 꿀송이 같아서 마음에 달고 뼈에 양약이 되느니라
25어떤 길은 사람이 보기에 바르나 필경은 사망의 길이니라
26고되게 일하는 자는 식욕으로 말미암아 애쓰나니 이는 그의 입이 자기를 독촉함이니라
27불량한 자는 악을 꾀하나니 그 입술에는 맹렬한 불같은 것이 있느니라
28패역한 자는 다툼을 일으키고 말장이는 친한 벗을 이간하느니라
29강포한 사람은 그 이웃을 꾀어 좋지 아니한 길로 인도하느니라
30눈짓을 하는 자는 패역한 일을 도모하며 입술을 닫는 자는 악한 일을 이루느니라
31백발은 영화의 면류관이라 공의로운 길에서 얻으리라
32노하기를 더디하는 자는 용사보다 낫고 자기의 마음을 다스리는 자는 성을 빼앗는 자보다 나으니라
33제비는 사람이 뽑으나 모든 일을 작정하기는 여호와께 있느니라

5The stouthearted are made a spoil, They have slept their sleep; And none of the men of might have found their hands.
6At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, Both chariot and horse are cast into a deep sleep.
7Thou, even thou, art to be feared; And who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry?
8Thou didst cause sentence to be heard from heaven; The earth feared, and was still,
9When God arose to judgment, To save all the meek of the earth. Selah
10Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee: The residue of wrath shalt thou gird upon thee.
11Vow, and pay unto Jehovah your God: Let all that are round about him bring presents unto him that ought to be feared.

4주는 약탈한 산에서 영화로우시며 존귀하시도다
5마음이 강한 자도 가진 것을 빼앗기고 잠에 빠질 것이며 장사들도 모두 그들에게 도움을 줄 손을 만날 수 없도다
6야곱의 하나님이여 주께서 꾸짖으시매 병거와 말이 다 깊이 잠들었나이다
7주께서는 경외 받을 이시니 주께서 한 번 노하실 때에 누가 주의 목전에 서리이까
8주께서 하늘에서 판결을 선포하시매 땅이 두려워 잠잠하였나니
9곧 하나님이 땅의 모든 온유한 자를 구원하시려고 심판하러 일어나신 때에로다 (셀라)
10진실로 사람의 노여움은 주를 찬송하게 될 것이요 그 남은 노여움은 주께서 금하시리이다
11너희는 여호와 너희 하나님께서 서원하고 갚으라 사방에 있는 모든 사람도 마땅히 경외할 이에게 예물을 드릴지로다
12그가 고관들의 기를 꺾으시리니 그는 세상의 왕들에게 두려움이시로다
1I will cry unto God with my voice, Even unto God with my voice; and he will give ear unto me.
2In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord: My hand was stretched out in the night, and slacked not; My soul refused to be comforted.
3I remember God, and am disquieted: I complain, and my spirit is overwhelmed. Selah
4Thou holdest mine eyes watching: I am so troubled that I cannot speak.
5I have considered the days of old, The years of ancient times.

10And I said, This is my infirmity; `But I will remember' the years of the right hand of the Most High.
11I will make mention of the deeds of Jehovah; For I will remember thy wonders of old.
12I will meditate also upon all thy work, And muse on thy doings.
13Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: Who is a great god like unto God?
14Thou art the God that doest wonders: Thou hast made known thy strength among the peoples.

1내가 내 음성으로 하나님께 부르짖으리니 내 음성으로 하나님께 부르짖으면 내게 귀를 기울이시리로다
2나의 환난 날에 내가 주를 찾았으며 밤에는 내 손을 들고 거두지 아니하였나니 내 영혼이 위로 받기를 거절하였도다
3내가 하나님을 기억하고 불안하여 근심하니 내 심령이 상하도다 (셀라)
4주께서 내가 눈을 붙이지 못하게 하시니 내가 괴로워 말할 수 없나이다

10또 내가 말하기를 이는 나의 잘못이라 지존자의 오른손의 해
11곧 여호와의 일들을 기억하며 주께서 옛적에 행하신 기이한 일을 기억하리이다
12또 주의 모든 일을 작은 소리로 읊조리며 주의 행사를 낮은 소리로 되뇌이리이다
13하나님이여 주의 도는 극히 거룩하시오니 하나님과 같이 위대하신 신이 누구오니이까
14주는 기이한 일을 행하신 하나님이시라 민족들 중에 주의 능력을 알리시고
15주의 팔로 주의 백성 곧 야곱과 요셉의 자손을 속량하셨나이다 (셀라)
16하나님이여 물들이 주를 보았나이다 물들이 주를 보고 두려워하며 깊음도 진동하였고
17구름이 물을 쏟고 궁창이 소리를 내며 주의 화살도 날아갔나이다
18회오리바람 중에 주의 우렛소리가 있으며 번개가 세계를 비추며 땅이 흔들리며 움직였나이다
19주의 길이 바다에 있었고 주의 곧은 길이 큰 물에 있었으나 주의 발자취를 알 수 없었나이다
20주의 백성을 양 떼 같이 모세와 아론의 손으로 인도하셨나이다
1Give ear, O my people, to my law: Incline your ears to the words of my mouth.
2I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings of old,
3Which we have heard and known, And our fathers have told us.
4We will not hide them from their children, Telling to the generation to come the praises of Jehovah, And his strength, and his wondrous works that he hath done.
5For he established a testimony in Jacob, And appointed a law in Israel, Which he commanded our fathers, That they should make them known to their children;
6That the generation to come might know `them', even the children that should be born; Who should arise and tell `them' to their children,
7That they might set their hope in God, And not forget the works of God, But keep his commandments,
8And might not be as their fathers, A stubborn and rebellious generation, A generation that set not their heart aright, And whose spirit was not stedfast with God.
9The children of Ephraim, being armed and carrying bows, Turned back in the day of battle.
10They kept not the covenant of God, And refused to walk in his law;
11And they forgat his doings, And his wondrous works that he had showed them.
12Marvellous things did he in the sight of their fathers, In the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan.
13He clave the sea, and caused them to pass through; And he made the waters to stand as a heap.
14In the day-time also he led them with a cloud, And all the night with a light of fire.
15He clave rocks in the wilderness, And gave them drink abundantly as out of the depths.
16He brought streams also out of the rock, And caused waters to run down like rivers.
17Yet went they on still to sin against him, To rebel against the Most High in the desert.
18And they tempted God in their heart By asking food according to their desire.
19Yea, they spake against God; They said, Can God prepare a table in the wilderness?
20Behold, he smote the rock, so that waters gushed out, And streams overflowed; Can he give bread also? Will he provide flesh for his people?
21Therefore Jehovah heard, and was wroth; And a fire was kindled against Jacob, And anger also went up against Israel;
22Because they believed not in God, And trusted not in his salvation.
23Yet he commanded the skies above, And opened the doors of heaven;
24And he rained down manna upon them to eat, And gave them food from heaven.
25Man did eat the bread of the mighty: He sent them food to the full.
26He caused the east wind to blow in the heavens; And by his power he guided the south wind.
27He rained flesh also upon them as the dust, And winged birds as the sand of the seas:
28And he let it fall in the midst of their camp, Round about their habitations.
29So they did eat, and were well filled; And he gave them their own desire.
30They were not estranged from that which they desired, Their food was yet in their mouths,
31When the anger of God went up against them, And slew of the fattest of them, And smote down the young men of Israel.
32For all this they sinned still, And believed not in his wondrous works.
33Therefore their days did he consume in vanity, And their years in terror.
34When he slew them, then they inquired after him; And they returned and sought God earnestly.
35And they remembered that God was their rock, And the Most High God their redeemer.
36But they flattered him with their mouth, And lied unto him with their tongue.
37For their heart was not right with him, Neither were they faithful in his covenant.
38But he, being merciful, forgave `their' iniquity, and destroyed `them' not: Yea, many a time turned he his anger away, And did not stir up all his wrath.
39And he remembered that they were but flesh, A wind that passeth away, and cometh not again.
40How oft did they rebel against him in the wilderness, And grieve him in the desert!
41And they turned again and tempted God, And provoked the Holy One of Israel.
42They remember not his hand, Nor the day when he redeemed them from the adversary;
43How he set his signs in Egypt, And his wonders in the field of Zoan,
44And turned their rivers into blood, And their streams, so that they could not drink.
45He sent among them swarms of flies, which devoured them; And frogs, which destroyed them.
46He gave also their increase unto the caterpillar, And their labor unto the locust.
47He destroyed their vines with hail, And their sycomore-trees with frost.
48He gave over their cattle also to the hail, And their flocks to hot thunderbolts.
49He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, Wrath, and indignation, and trouble, A band of angels of evil.
50He made a path for his anger; He spared not their soul from death, But gave their life over to the pestilence,
51And smote all the first-born in Egypt, The chief of their strength in the tents of Ham.
52But he led forth his own people like sheep, And guided them in the wilderness like a flock.
53And he led them safely, so that they feared not; But the sea overwhelmed their enemies.
54And he brought them to the border of his sanctuary, To this mountain, which his right hand had gotten.
55He drove out the nations also before them, And allotted them for an inheritance by line, And made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents.
56Yet they tempted and rebelled against the Most High God, And kept not his testimonies;
57But turned back, and dealt treacherously like their fathers: They were turned aside like a deceitful bow.
58For they provoked him to anger with their high places, And moved him to jealousy with their graven images.
59When God heard `this', he was wroth, And greatly abhorred Israel;
60So that he forsook the tabernacle of Shiloh, The tent which he placed among men;
61And delivered his strength into captivity, And his glory into the adversary's hand.
62He gave his people over also unto the sword, And was wroth with his inheritance.
63Fire devoured their young men; And their virgins had no marriage-song.
64Their priests fell by the sword; And their widows made no lamentation.
65Then the Lord awaked as one out of sleep, Like a mighty man that shouteth by reason of wine.
66And he smote his adversaries backward: He put them to a perpetual reproach.
67Moreover he refused the tent of Joseph, And chose not the tribe of Ephraim,
68But chose the tribe of Judah, The mount Zion which he loved.
69And he built his sanctuary like the heights, Like the earth which he hath established for ever.
70He chose David also his servant, And took him from the sheepfolds:
71From following the ewes that have their young he brought him, To be the shepherd of Jacob his people, and Israel his inheritance.
72So he was their shepherd according to the integrity of his heart, And guided them by the skilfulness of his hands. Psalm 79 A Psalm of Asaph.
1내 백성이여, 내 율법을 들으며 내 입의 말에 귀를 기울일지어다
2내가 입을 열어 비유로 말하며 예로부터 감추어졌던 것을 드러내려 하니
3이는 우리가 들어서 아는 바요 우리의 조상들이 우리에게 전한 바라
4우리가 이를 그들의 자손에게 숨기지 아니하고 여호와의 영예와 그의 능력과 그가 행하신 기이한 사적을 후대에 전하리로다
5여호와께서 증거를 야곱에게 세우시며 법도를 이스라엘에게 정하시고 우리 조상들에게 명령하사 그들의 자손에게 알리라 하셨으니
6이는 그들로 후대 곧 태어날 자손에게 이를 알게 하고 그들은 일어나 그들의 자손에게 일러서
7그들로 그들의 소망을 하나님께 두며 하나님께서 행하신 일을 잊지 아니하고 오직 그의 계명을 지켜서
8그들의 조상들 곧 완고하고 패역하여 그들의 마음이 정직하지 못하며 그 심령이 하나님께 충성하지 아니하는 세대와 같이 되지 아니하게 하려 하심이로다
9에브라임 자손은 무기를 갖추며 활을 가졌으나 전쟁의 날에 물러갔도다
10그들이 하나님의 언약을 지키지 아니하고 그의 율법 준행을 거절하며
11여호와께서 행하신 것과 그들에게 보이신 그의 기이한 일을 잊었도다
12옛적에 하나님이 애굽 땅 소안 들에서 기이한 일을 그들의 조상들의 목전에서 행하셨으되
13그가 바다를 갈라 물을 무더기 같이 서게 하시고 그들을 지나가게 하셨으며
14낮에는 구름으로, 밤에는 불빛으로 인도하셨으며
15광야에서 반석을 쪼개시고 매우 깊은 곳에서 나오는 물처럼 흡족하게 마시게 하셨으며
16또 바위에서 시내를 내사 물이 강 같이 흐르게 하셨으나
17그들은 계속해서 하나님께 범죄하여 메마른 땅에서 지존자를 배반하였도다
18그들이 그들의 탐욕대로 음식을 구하여 그들의 심중에 하나님을 시험하였으며
19그뿐 아니라 하나님을 대적하여 말하기를 하나님이 광야에서 식탁을 베푸실 수 있으랴
20보라 그가 반석을 쳐서 물을 내시니 시내가 넘쳤으나 그가 능히 떡도 주시며 자기 백성을 위하여 고기도 예비하시랴 하였도다
21그러므로 여호와께서 듣고 노하셨으며 야곱에게 불 같이 노하셨고 또한 이스라엘에게 진노가 불타 올랐으니
22이는 하나님을 믿지 아니하며 그의 구원을 의지하지 아니한 때문이로다
23그러나 그가 위의 궁창을 명령하시며 하늘 문을 여시고
24그들에게 만나를 비 같이 내려 먹이시며 하늘 양식을 그들에게 주셨나니
25사람이 힘센 자의 떡을 먹었으며 그가 음식을 그들에게 충족히 주셨도다
26그가 동풍을 하늘에서 일게 하시며 그의 권능으로 남풍을 인도하시고
27먼지처럼 많은 고기를 비 같이 내리시고 나는 새를 바다의 모래 같이 내리셨도다
28그가 그것들을 그들의 진중에 떨어지게 하사 그들의 거처에 두르셨으므로
29그들이 먹고 심히 배불렀나니 하나님이 그들의 원대로 그들에게 주셨도다
30그러나 그들이 그들의 욕심을 버리지 아니하여 그들의 먹을 것이 아직 그들의 입에 있을 때에
31하나님이 그들에게 노염을 나타내사 그들 중 강한 자를 죽이시며 이스라엘의 청년을 쳐 엎드러뜨리셨도다
32이러함에도 그들은 여전히 범죄하여 그의 기이한 일들을 믿지 아니하였으므로
33하나님이 그들의 날들을 헛되이 보내게 하시며 그들의 햇수를 두려움으로 보내게 하셨도다
34하나님이 그들을 죽이실 때에 그들이 그에게 구하며 돌이켜 하나님을 간절히 찾았고
35하나님이 그들의 반석이시며 지존하신 하나님이 그들의 구속자이심을 기억하였도다
36그러나 그들이 입으로 그에게 아첨하며 자기 혀로 그에게 거짓을 말하였으니
37이는 하나님께 향하는 그들의 마음이 정함이 없으며 그의 언약에 성실하지 아니하였음이로다
38오직 하나님은 긍휼하시므로 죄악을 덮어 주시어 멸망시키지 아니하시고 그의 진노를 여러 번 돌이키시며 그의 모든 분을 다 쏟아 내지 아니하셨으니
39그들은 육체이며 가고 다시 돌아오지 못하는 바람임을 기억하셨음이라
40그들이 광야에서 그에게 반항하며 사막에서 그를 슬프시게 함이 몇 번인가
41그들이 돌이켜 하나님을 거듭거듭 시험하며 이스라엘의 거룩하신 이를 노엽게 하였도다
42그들이 그의 권능의 손을 기억하지 아니하며 대적에게서 그들을 구원하신 날도 기억하지 아니하였도다
43그 때에 하나님이 애굽에서 그의 표적들을, 소안 들에서 그의 징조들을 나타내사
44그들의 강과 시내를 피로 변하여 그들로 마실 수 없게 하시며
45쇠파리 떼를 그들에게 보내어 그들을 물게 하시고 개구리를 보내어 해하게 하셨으며
46그들의 토산물을 황충에게 주셨고 그들이 수고한 것을 메뚜기에게 주셨으며
47그들의 포도나무를 우박으로 그들의 뽕나무를 서리로 죽이셨으며
48그들의 가축을 우박에, 그들의 양 떼를 번갯불에 넘기셨으며
49그의 맹렬한 노여움과 진노와 분노와 고난 곧 재앙의 천사들을 그들에게 내려보내셨으며
50그는 진노로 길을 닦으사 그들의 목숨이 죽음을 면하지 못하게 하시고 그들의 생명을 전염병에 붙이셨으며
51애굽에서 모든 장자 곧 함의 장막에 있는 그들의 기력의 처음 것을 치셨으나
52그가 자기 백성은 양 같이 인도하여 내시고 광야에서 양 떼 같이 지도하셨도다
53그들을 안전히 인도하시니 그들은 두려움이 없었으나 그들의 원수는 바다에 빠졌도다
54그들을 그의 성소의 영역 곧 그의 오른손으로 만드신 산으로 인도하시고
55또 나라를 그들의 앞에서 쫓아내시며 줄을 쳐서 그들의 소유를 분배하시고 이스라엘의 지파들이 그들의 장막에 살게 하셨도다
56그러나 그들은 지존하신 하나님을 시험하고 반항하여 그의 명령을 지키지 아니하며
57그들의 조상들 같이 배반하고 거짓을 행하여 속이는 활 같이 빗나가서
58자기 산당들로 그의 노여움을 일으키며 그들의 조각한 우상들로 그를 진노하게 하였으매
59하나님이 들으시고 분내어 이스라엘을 크게 미워하사
60사람 가운데 세우신 장막 곧 실로의 성막을 떠나시고
61그가 그의 능력을 포로에게 넘겨주시며 그의 영광을 대적의 손에 붙이시고
62그가 그의 소유 때문에 분내사 그의 백성을 칼에 넘기셨으니
63그들의 청년은 불에 살라지고 그들의 처녀들은 혼인 노래를 들을 수 없었으며
64그들의 제사장들은 칼에 엎드러지고 그들의 과부들은 애곡도 하지 못하였도다
65그 때에 주께서 잠에서 깨어난 것처럼, 포도주를 마시고 고함치는 용사처럼 일어나사

2The dead bodies of thy servants have they given to be food unto the birds of the heavens, The flesh of thy saints unto the beasts of the earth.
3Their blood have they shed like water round about Jerusalem; And there was none to bury them.
4We are become a reproach to our neighbors, A scoffing and derision to them that are round about us.
5How long, O Jehovah? wilt thou be angry for ever? Shall thy jealousy burn like fire?
6Pour out thy wrath upon the nations that know thee not, And upon the kingdoms that call not upon thy name.
7For they have devoured Jacob, And laid waste his habitation.
8Remember not against us the iniquities of our forefathers: Let thy tender mercies speedily meet us; For we are brought very low.
9Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy name; And deliver us, and forgive our sins, for thy name's sake.
10Wherefore should the nations say, Where is their God? Let the avenging of the blood of thy servants which is shed Be known among the nations in our sight.
11Let the sighing of the prisoner come before thee: According to the greatness of thy power preserve thou those that are appointed to death;
12And render unto our neighbors sevenfold into their bosom Their reproach, wherewith they have reproached thee, O Lord.

1하나님이여 이방 나라들이 주의 기업의 땅에 들어와서 주와 성전을 더럽히고 예루살렘이 돌무더기가 되게 하였나이다
2그들이 주의 종들의 시체를 공중의 새에게 밥으로, 주의 성도들의 육체를 땅의 짐승에게 주며
3그들의 피를 예루살렘 사방에 물 같이 흘렸으나 그들을 매장하는 자가 없었나이다
4우리는 우리 이웃에게 비방 거리가 되며 우리를 에워싼 자에게 조소와 조롱 거리가 되었나이다
5여호와여 어느 때까지니이까 영원히 노하시리이까 주의 질투가 불붙듯 하시리이까
6주를 알지 아니하는 민족들과 주의 이름을 부르지 아니하는 나라들에게 주의 노를 쏟으소서

14Turn again, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: Look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine,
15And the stock which thy right hand planted, And the branch that thou madest strong for thyself.
16It is burned with fire, it is cut down: They perish at the rebuke of thy countenance.
17Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, Upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself.
18So shall we not go back from thee: Quicken thou us, and we will call upon thy name.

1요셉을 양 떼 같이 인도하시는 이스라엘의 목자여 귀를 기울이소서 그룹 사이에 좌정하신 이여 빛을 비추소서
